Sustenance to Start the School Year

Sacristy Makeover
Knights from Ancienne Lorette (Québec) Council 4246 present a check for CA$100,000 — proceeds from the sale of the council’s home corporation building — to priests and parish council members of Notre-Dame-de-L’Annonciation Church to support renovation projects at the church, which was built in 1907. The updates include new flooring, new electrical and sound systems, window repairs, painting and more.

Echoes of the Martyrs
Paul Petro, treasurer for the Idaho State Council, and his wife, Bonnie, gather around the reliquary of six Mexican martyrs — all priests and Knights of Columbus — after a Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Mountain Home. McElligott Council 3703 hosted the reliquary at the church for a day, during which more than 60 people venerated the relics after Mass, a time of Eucharistic adoration and a rosary prayer service.

Love that Endures

Rectory Renewal

Zeppoles and Zeal

Council 4012 in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., mix zeppole batter for St. Patrick Church’s food booth at the Yorktown Feast of San Gennaro — a street festival celebrating Italian heritage. Knights and parishioners volunteered over five days to prepare and serve zeppoles, traditional Italian fried dough balls. The booth raised enough to fully fund the cost of a new roof for the main church, which was damaged by water leaks.

Walking with our Lady
More than 300 Knights from Mexico and Puerto Rico, along with their families, arrive at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The national pilgrimage, organized by Knights in Mexico, has taken place annually for more than 40 years. This year, a delegation of Puerto Rican Knights joined Mexico’s five jurisdictions for the event.

Holy Paws
Past Grand Knight Vince Calderon of Palmdale (Calif.) Council 4229 holds a bowl of holy water for Father Guillermo Martinez, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, as he blesses parishioners’ pets on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, Oct. 4. Pilgrims of the Jubilee
Knights from St. John Neumann Council 16169 in Canton, Mich., gather at the Solanus Casey Center in Detroit during a council-led pilgrimage to the center, one of 12 official pilgrimage sites designated by the Archdiocese of Detroit for the Jubilee Year 2025. More than 100 people attended the event, which included Mass celebrated by Father Paul Ballien, pastor of St. John Neumann Parish and council chaplain, as well as an opportunity for confession.

Columbus Day Celebration

Church Doors Restored
Members of Father J. Fred Reidy, S.J. Council 1021 in Missoula, Mont., restored the solid oak doors of St. Francis Xavier Church after more than 130 years of exposure to weather left them badly deteriorated. The project cost $300, which was covered by an individual Knight, and 12 Knights completed the restoration — cleaning, sanding and applying two coats of durable, waterproof coating over the course of four weeks.
Bottled-Up Blessings
Msgr. Esper Council 3027 in Fowler, Mich., organized its 20th annual recycling drive for vocations, collecting more than 129,000 bottles and cans and cash donations worth a total of $13,300. The council will use the funds to support seminarians and religious through the Order’s Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP).
Rosary Ride
Carrington (N.D.) Council 4951 organized a rosary ride in which participants traveled to five different locations to pray and meditate on a decade of the rosary. During the trip, they also visited residents at a local nursing home.
With Christ we Walk
Knights from Queen of Peace Council 10687 in Savannah, Ga., led about 40 people in a Eucharistic procession at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. The procession concluded with a period of prayer and Eucharistic adoration, during which a staff member from Savannah Care Center, a local pregnancy resource center, gave a talk on fatherhood. The Knights prepared a barbecue lunch for attendees afterward.
Renewed Foundation
Members of Salem (Ohio) Council 1818 worked with parishioners to strip and seal the nearly 100-year-old tile and stone floors at St. Paul Church. The materials were donated by a local ceramic company, and the work of Knights and other volunteers helped the church save over $1,000 in labor costs.
Summer Celebration
Knights from Orinoco Council 39 in Greenwich, Conn., operateda food tent during St. Roch Church’s annual summer festival. All funds raised went toward supporting the church’s ministries, building upkeep and outreach programs.
Sacramental Support
A few months ago, St. Francis de Sales Council 16837 in Morgantown, W.Va., organized a baptismal gift ministry at St. Francis de Sales Parish. For approximately 50 baptisms a year, the council provides a bottle for holy water from the baptism; rosaries for the child, parents, godparents and others; and instructions on how to pray the rosary. The ministry was inspired by a family tradition of Peter Kreckel, a parishioner and brother Knight.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pray for Us!
Mount Hood Council 18062 in Sandy, Ore., hosted the reliquary of six Mexican martyrs — all priests and Knights of Columbus — for veneration at St. Michael Church. About 60 people attended a Mass celebrated by Father Gregg Bronsema, pastor and council chaplain, to honor them. After Mass, two parishioners who grew up in Mexico and whose parents knew some of the martyrs gave testimonies about the persecution of the Catholic community during that time. Knights distributed Our Lady of Guadalupe prayer medals to attendees and hosted a reception afterward.
Iron Sharpens Iron
St. Margaret Council 3208 in Lake Charles, La., helped sponsor a men’s conference at St. Margaret of Scotland Church themed “Iron Sharpens Iron.” The event drew 160 men from throughout the Diocese of Lake Charles and included three speakers, Mass celebrated by Bishop Glen Provost, communal prayer of the rosary and Divine Mercy chaplet, and Eucharistic adoration.
Jubilee of Priests
Several councils near Paris provided support for a gathering of over 800 priests from the ecclesiastical province of Paris — which encompasses eight dioceses in the Île-de-France region — celebrating their jubilee. The priests gathered at eight locations of spiritual significance in Paris before a joint gathering at Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral. Knights served about 50 meals to priests who came to the Basilica of Saint-Denis in Argenteuil and also helped with security and guided the priests during Mass at Notre-Dame.
Welcome Brunch
St. Basil’s Jubilee Council 18772 in Ottawa, Ontario, organized a brunch at St. Basil Parish to welcome Father Adolphus Chukwuka as the new pastor and council chaplain. This was the first event organized at the parish by Council 18772 since it was chartered in June 2025.
Blessing Our Everyday Heroes
Sts. Cosmas and Damian Council 13341 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., sponsored a Mass in honor of first responders at Our Lady of the Angels Parish on Sept. 9. About 270 people attended, including Mayor Gene Brown of Bradenton and representatives from several first responder and public safety positions.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Pray for Us
Father John LaFarge, S.J. Council 4012 in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., helped organize a Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish for the 50th anniversary of its namesake’s canonization. More than 700 people attended the Mass, celebrated by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York, and Father Joseph A. Damin Assembly 718 in North Westchester provided an honor guard. Knights also helped organize a social event in the gym following the Mass and sold commemorative tote bags to raise over $5,000 for the event.
Reliquary of Faith
Father Kelly Council 2888 in Sandpoint, Idaho, hosted a silver, cruciform reliquary containing relics of six Mexican martyrs from the 1920s and 1930s — all members of the Knights of Columbus — for veneration at St. Joseph Church. More than 50 people venerated the relics throughout the day, including after Mass and during evening confessions.
Vocations by the Dozen
Marquette Council 588 in Sparta, N.J., raised more than $1,600 through its annual donut fundraiser, with proceeds donated to the Diocese of Paterson’s vocations office via the Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP). Council 588 has supported RSVP since September 2010, contributing about $20,000 to date. The council also hosted its annual Pride in Our Priests dinner, honoring 13 current and retired diocesan priests, with both State Deputy James Sweeney and State Chaplain Bishop Paul Bootkoski, bishop emeritus of Metuchen, in attendance.
Parish Revitalized
Members of Sacred Heart Council 11389 in Ellwood City, Pa., painted and renovated the lunch room and entrances of the Catholic Center at Holy Redeemer Parish. The facility is used to host weekly community dinners, funeral luncheons, meetings and more.
Honoring 150 Years of Mission
Knights from Allouez Council 658 in Rock Island, Ill., and Father Edward J. Bader Assembly 1922 in Milan provided an honor guard and other liturgical support for a Mass at St. Pius X Church, marking the 150th anniversary of the Diocese of Peoria. Bishop Louis Tylka celebrated the Mass, with more than 600 people from several parishes in the Rock Island Vicariate in attendance. Members of Council 658 also assisted with setting up for the reception afterward.
Mary, Mother Of God, Pray for Us
Members of Father Frank Colacicco Council 4060 in Danville, Calif., carried a statue of Mary during an outdoor rosary procession at St. Isidore Catholic Church, in celebration of the Jubilee Year 2025. About 60 people participated in the hourlong procession with Father Matthew Murray, pastor and a brother Knight, and Knights led decades of the rosary.
Relics of the Faithful
About 250 people venerated the relics of six Mexican martyrs — all priests and brother Knights killed in the 1920s or 1930s — during a day of reflection hosted by Rupert (Idaho) Council 2792 at St. Nicholas Church. The reliquary remained on display during a prayer service and Eucharistic adoration.
His Heart in our Midst
Allegan (Mich.) Council 2515 hosted the Order’s pilgrim icon of the Sacred Heart for one week at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. More than 200 people venerated the icon following Masses and during periods of Eucharistic adoration.
Landscapers to the Rescue
Members of St. Matthias Council 8111 in Tumauini, Luzon North, participated in a parish cleanup day at St. Matthias Parish that coincided with National Heroes Day on Aug. 25. About 20 Knights spent half the day landscaping and cleaning the parish grounds.
Crusaders Answer the Call
Following heat advisories issued in the area, Knights from Crusaders Council 10151 in Orland Park, Ill., spent over $1,600 to purchase, deliver and install more than 10 portable air conditioning units and dehumidifiers at the Poor Clare Monastery of the Immaculate Conception in Palos Park. Knights remained afterward for a Mass celebrated in the chapel by Auxiliary Bishop Robert Fedek of Chicago.
A Faithful Salute
Members of several Pennsylvania assemblies provided an honor guard for a Mass honoring military service and spiritual heroism at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon on Sept. 29, the feast of the Archangels. Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Coffey of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, celebrated the Mass and blessed a new image of Venerable Emil Kapaun, a parish priest and U.S. Army chaplain who died in 1951 as a prisoner of war in Korea.
Paving the Path Forward
Iron River (Mich.) Council 2300 donated $4,500 to St. Agnes Church and $3,000 to St. Cecilia Church to support parking lot renovations. The repairs — the first in about 10 years — will include filling in cracks, sealing and striping.
Sanctuary in the Storm
Knights from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Council 16272 in Malolos, Luzon North, worked with St. Elizabeth of Hungary parishioners to repair the parish chapel, which served as an evacuation center for families displaced by typhoons. The repairs took five days and included replacing broken glass with new stained-glass windows.

Mac-Ing a Difference
Knights from St. Brendan Council 11208 in Hilliard, Ohio, and other volunteers assemble macaroni and cheese dinner packages for the Hilliard Food Pantry and Chillicothe VA Food Bank. Council 11208 raised more than $7,800 to fund enough food and supplies for 2,000 dinner packages.

Chipping in for Students
Members of Msgr. Paul Martin Co-Mission San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) Council 7519 present a check for over $84,000 — proceeds from the council’s annual golf tournament — to Alycia Beresford, principal of Mission Basilica School, to support the school’s tuition assistance program. This was the ninth year of the golf tournament, with donations totaling more than $300,000 for tuition assistance since then.

Playground Party
Knights from St. Matthew Council 14360 in Norwalk, Conn., assemble at the council’s Father Michael McGivney Playground at St. Matthew Church during an open house hosted by the council. More than 300 people attended, and the Knights provided children with ice cream, drinks and frisbees.

Ending Hunger One Step at a Time
Members of Msgr. David R. Hintz Council 13576 in Lincoln, Neb., help lead about 350 people in the annual Walk to End Hunger fundraiser at Pius X High School. Several local councils supported the event, with Council 13576 as one of the principal cosponsors. Donations totaled 69,000 pounds of food and $68,000 to support the Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska’s food pantry.

No Brother Left Behind

Pancakes with Purpose
George Cuzakis from James Francis Cardinal McIntyre Council 6332 in Mission Viejo, Calif., makes pancakes for the council’s breakfast at St. Kilian Catholic Church. Held quarterly, the breakfasts raise about $15,000 annually to support charities and initiatives, such as the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program, Global Wheelchair Mission, Special Olympics and more.

Shepherds of Hope
Knights from St. Agnes Kouying Tsao Council 15176 in Markham, Ontario, present a check for over CA$5,600 to representatives of Good Shepherd Ministries in Toronto. The council also donated more than 2,300 pounds of food to the organization, which serves people experiencing homelessness.

Supplies for Success
St. Gregory Council 15425 in Plantation, Fla., donated more than $1,600 to support a school supply drive organized by Matthew 25, a ministry of St. Gregory the Great Parish that assists people in need. More than 230 backpacks were filled with supplies and distributed to families throughout the Fort Lauderdale area.
Steaks are High
St. Ambrose Council 11801 in Garrettsville, Ohio, hosted its annual steak dinner fundraiser at St. Ambrose Church, raising approximately $1,700. The funds will support the council’s scholarship program, participation in Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids, the Nelson Garrettsville Community Cupboard and other charities.
Food by the Ton
Since 2022, Wilmington (N.C.) Council 1074 has collected more than 32,600 pounds of food and raised nearly $14,000 through monthly food drives in Leland and periodic drives in Carolina Beach. The donations are given to the Sister Isaac Center in Wilmington for distribution.
A Table for All
Knights from Bishop Kenny Council 1951 in Jacksonville, Fla., and members of its women’s auxiliary group distributed meals to 40 people experiencing homelessness at an encampment in downtown Jacksonville. The meals included homemade sandwiches, snacks, fruit and drinks.
Slam Dunk Family Night
Ave Maria Council 7880 in Parker, Colo., organized a social evening for fathers, sons and grandsons at Ave Maria Parish. Council member Richard White’s son, Derrick White — a guard for the Boston Celtics and Olympic gold medalist — spoke on the importance of faith and prayer in achieving success. Derrick answered questions and signed autographs for attendees.
College Bound
St. Stanislaus Council 7875 in Pleasant Valley, N.Y., awarded $3,000 in scholarships to students preparing for college education. The council has contributed more than $21,000 in scholarships since 2000, with funds raised through various council fundraisers throughout the year.
Backpacks of Blessings
St. Peter Cathedral Council 15035 in Erie, Pa., organized its fourth annual backpack drive, collecting more than $900 to purchase school supplies for over 60 students in need at St. Ann School. Several local assemblies and councils participated in the drive.
All Are Welcome
Members of St. Margaret Council 3208 in Lake Charles, La., volunteer monthly at Abraham’s Tent, a soup kitchen that provides warm meals to people in need. Council 3208 has supported Abraham’s Tent since 1980.
Food for Thought
St. Matthias Council 8111 in Tumauini, Luzon North, established the Pang-kain, Pantawid, Pag-aaral (Food, Transportation, Education) Program in July 2024 to provide lunch to children in need during the school week. The program has helped more than 20 students throughout the 2025-2026 school year, each receiving three meals a week.

Neighborhood Fed
Father Gerald M. Warren Council 7969 in Stoney Creek, Ontario, partnered with St. Francis Xavier Parish and five local Catholic elementary schools to collect nearly 5,400 pounds of food for the local food bank throughout 2025. Council 7969 has organized two food drives annually for the past five years, with donations totaling over 27,700 pounds.
A Lesson in Caring
Eugene M. Dunn Council 8321 in Lacon, Ill., helped organize a breakfast that raised more than $22,000 to assist a Midland Elementary School teacher with medical expenses following brain surgery for an aneurysm.
Learning Without Borders
Father Alfred Saylor Council 3774 in Allen Park, Mich., and Father Patrick O’Kelley Council 3860 in Dearborn organized their 25th annual dinner fundraiser to support Anna Memorial School in Choutuppal, India. The event raised over $4,400 for the school, which was founded by a married couple from Sacred Heart Parish in Dearborn.
Take Away Hunger
About 60 Knights from Washington (Iowa) Council 2008 and Father Gaule Council 4092 in Fairfield were among the volunteers who prepared more than 15,000 meals during a food packing event organized by Council 2008. The event was held in partnership with Take Away Hunger to aid people in need in Haiti.
Family Rosary
Bradford (Pa.) Council 403 organized a family rosary night at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish on Oct. 7 to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Father James Gutting, a brother Knight, opened the evening in prayer and two Knights led attendees in praying through the joyful mysteries of the rosary. Council 403 has held the event annually during the first week of October for the past four years.
Prayer Walks
Pope St. Pius V Council 14041 in Bartlett, Tenn., organized prayer walks at 11 local schools. Over six weeks, two groups of Knights visited two schools each Sunday — and one school during the final week — to lead about 15 to 20 parents, teachers and students in prayers for safety and well-being as they walked the school grounds. It was the sixth year the council has led the initiative.
Plates of Hope
Louis Herbert Council 6468 in Moncton, New Brunswick, organized a Food for Families collection at three Catholic churches during a weekend in October. Nearly 500 pounds of food were collected for the local food bank to distribute to families in need. Council 6468 has participated in Food for Families for the past 10 years, with donations totaling more than $28,600 and 14,000 pounds of food.
Support for Parish and School
St. Bernard Council 14269 in Brooklyn, N.Y., donated $26,500 to the St. Bernard Parish community: $20,000 to St. Bernard Church, $5,000 to St. Bernard Catholic Academy, and $1,500 to the parish religious education program. Over the past 15 years, the council has raised more than $750,000 from its annual golf outing to support parish ministries and local charitable causes.

Can-Doers
Knights from St. Thomas Aquinas Council 3023 in Derry, N.H., and Franciscan friars from St. Thomas Aquinas Parish gather in front of the council’s recycling collection trailer, parked across the street from the parish. Mcgivney Hall
Knights from Santa Krus Council 15387 in Caloocan City, Luzon North, and volunteers install electrical pipes, wires and steel bars to construct McGivney Hall at Santa Krus Parish. The hall, used for council and parish activities such as medical missions and ultrasound services, cost 1.2 million PHP (about $21,000), which was raised through council fundraisers and donations from individual Knights over several years. Council members and other volunteers provided the labor for construction.

Honoring Everyday Heroes

Shaken but Not Broken
Elyzar Quesio of Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral Council 3106 in Cebu City, Visayas, grabs a bag of donated items during a distribution event at San Isidro Labrador Parish. A Sept. 30 earthquake in northern Cebu affected more than 720,000 people, killed more than 70, and displaced more than 8,800. Council 3106 worked with local organizations to deliver 1,200 packages of groceries, hygiene kits, water and more to five area parishes, where local K of C councils helped distribute them to families in need.

Love Beyond Borders

Wartime Charity

Rice-Ing to the Occasion
Knights from St. Michael the Archangel Council 17736 in Dagupan City, Luzon North, pack 200 bags of rice, noodles and canned goods at St. Michael the Archangel Parish. The bags were distributed to families in need as part of the parish’s ninth anniversary celebration. Council 17736 also organized two road cleanups last year to help keep churchgoers safe as they walk to and from the parish.
Bargains that Bless
St. Anne’s Bethlehem (Pa.) Council 15188 hosted its annual yard sale at St. Anne Parish’s community center, using items donated by parishioners and community members. The two-day event raised over $8,500, which the council will distribute among several charities, including Cay Galgon Life House, a local women’s shelter.
Summer Cookout
More than 60 residents of Knoll Heights Village in Sparta, N.J., attended the annual summer barbecue organized by Marquette Council 588. Knights served hot dogs, hamburgers, side dishes and desserts.
Chipping in for Charity
Father Patrick O’Kelley Council 3860 in Dearborn, Mich., raised more than $15,000 during its annual Steve Jacek Memorial Golf Outing — named for the grand knight who first organized the fundraiser and died in 2020. The funds will support several Detroit-area charities that Jacek supported, including Special Olympics Michigan, Penrickton Center for Blind Children, and the Lennon Center, a local pregnancy resource center.
No Soldier Forgotten
Members of Msgr. James J. Zegers Council 9113 in Marmora, N.J., placed 600 U.S. flags — representing the average number of veterans who die by suicide each month — on the grounds of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in September, coinciding with National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. This is the second year the council organized the memorial in partnership with Flags for Forgotten Veterans, an organization that raises awareness about mental health challenges faced by veterans.
Ramping Up Help
Eleven Knights from La Salette Council 5755 in Westlake, La., spent four hours building a ramp at the home of a St. John Bosco parishioner, who recently fell and broke her neck, so she could safely enter and exit her home. Deacon Lester Reed, a council officer and director, informed the council of the parishioner’s need, and members quickly mobilized to assist.
Framing New Beginnings
For nearly two years, members of Our Lady of Fatima Council 3118 in Fergus Falls, Minn., have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, helping to build three homes for local families.
Driving Support for Illinois’ Heroes
St. Francis of Assisi of Orland Park (Ill.) Council 16369 hosted its annual car show at St. Francis Church, raising more than $25,800 for the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation, which supports the families of officers who have died in the line of duty.
Healing Instruments
Since January 2020, Knights from several councils in Kitsap County, Wash., have supplied more than 16,600 pieces of medical equipment to people in need through KC HELP, a medical equipment program run by local councils in Washington. More than 30 Knights volunteer at two local service centers to help clean, repair and distribute donated medical equipment every weekday. About $200,000 is raised annually to cover expenses, with funds coming from councils, individual donations, grants and other sources. Materials from unusable equipment are sold to benefit the Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP). In the past five years, the Knights of Kitsap County have assisted more than 8,800 people with over $4.8 million worth of equipment.
Seeds of Education
Bishop Ackerman Council 5453 in Burlington, Ky., contributed $4,500 to help build a STEAM lab and library at Mary, Queen of Peace Parish for its school in Tepa, Ghana. The donation — about 31% of the total cost — was made after a request from Msgr. Dominic Fosu, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Burlington and a brother Knight, who attended the parish as a child. Msgr. Fosu, several council members and Bishop John Iffert of Covington traveled to Ghana for the blessing of the new building, which will help facilitate education in science, technology, engineering, the arts and math.
Vietnam Heroes Honored
Our Lady, Queen of the Knights Assembly 2679 in Jacksonville, Fla., donated $500 to the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America to support the organization’s programs and outreach to veterans and their families.
Mission Barbecue
Knights from St. Pius X Council 9976 in Billings, Mont., served meals to approximately 200 people experiencing homelessness during an event organized with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The council prepares similar barbecue meals several times each year.
Patriotic Heroism
Cullman (Ala.) Council 1484 hosted a talk by Gary Rose, a Vietnam War veteran awarded the Medal of Honor, at St. Bernard Preparatory School. Rose, a past grand knight of Good Shepherd Council 11672 in Huntsville, spoke to 130 students, faculty and guests about his military service and the importance of courage.
Swings that Serve
Holy Trinity Council 4400 in Joliet, Ill., held its 20th annual golf fundraiser at The Sanctuary Golf Course. More than 130 people participated and raised over $7,000 to support the Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet’s mobile food pantry and the purchase of an ultrasound machine for Living Alternatives, a pregnancy resource center. Between the 2024 and 2025 outings, Council 4400 raised $16,650 for the machine, which was matched by the Supreme Council through the Ultrasound Initiative.
A Taste of Welcome
St. Helen of the Cross Council 15999 in Beamsville, Ontario, organized a barbecue for over 200 residents of Chez Marie Refugee Assistance Centre. Over the past year, the council has also organized clothing drives, furniture donations and other support for the center.
Parish Festival
St. Vincent de Paul Council 3451 in Mays Landing, N.J., worked with St. Vincent de Paul Parish to organize an outdoor celebration for their patronal feast day. The council contributed more than $3,000 and numerous volunteer hours. About 1,500 parishioners enjoyed a day of free food, activities and entertainment.

Mining Memories
Knights from Sta. Quiteria Council 8751 in Caloocan City, Luzon North, and staff from the National Kidney and Transplant Institute assemble during a recent blood drive organized by the council. Thirteen donors gave blood during the drive, which Council 8751 regularly organizes in collaboration with the institute. Council members also participated in a regional march for life organized by Knights in Quezon City.

Life in Focus
Financial Secretary Chris Curto of St. Paul the Apostle Council 12021 in Richardson, Texas, presents Julie Eidhelman, director of White Rose Women’s Center in Dallas, with a check from the Supreme Council for more than $14,700 through the Ultrasound Initiative. Council 12021 raised $60,000 for the pregnancy resource center last year, and the funds were used in part to help purchase a new ultrasound machine for the center, which was later blessed by Father John Szatkowski, pastor and council chaplain. The council’s golf fundraiser has raised more than $600,000 for the center over two decades.

Home Repairs

Each month, Knights organize a service day to assist with repairs at the home. The council also gave $1,000 to the home through the ASAP (Aid and Support After Pregnancy) program, with an additional $200 from the Supreme Council.

Plane Pull

The event raised more than $2,000 for Life Choices Pregnancy and Family Resource Center, which operates three area locations. Because the donation was made through the ASAP program, the Supreme Council will provide an additional $400 grant.

Small Change, Big Impact
Members of St. Nicholas Council 7011 in Sterling Heights, Mich., present a $13,500 check — funds from the council’s annual baby bottle campaign — to Jessica Gaderick, office manager at Mary’s Mantle, a Catholic home for expectant mothers. Council 7011 has organized the bottle drive at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Parish for eight years, raising more than $85,000. Thanks to these contributions, the Supreme Council has matched nearly $15,000 through the Ultrasound Initiative and an additional $800 through ASAP.

Throughout the year, the Knights also help with the Special Olympics Arizona softball competition. Their support includes the council’s annual fundraiser for people with disabilities, which raised more than $3,200 this year for Special Olympics Arizona and One Step Beyond, which provides programs and services to people with intellectual disabilities.

Rosary for Life

Boutique Makeover
Knights from St. Bernadette Council 16376 in Westlake, Ohio, and their families helped renovate the baby boutique at Lilli Women’s Center in Cleveland. The center provided the supplies while Knights and volunteers spent about 10 hours repainting walls, building furniture and installing shelves.
Remembering the Unborn
Members of Winslow (Ariz.) Council 9801 built and installed a statue of Mary holding an unborn baby at Madre de Dios Church. The project was first proposed by Father Peter Short, a former pastor and council chaplain. Grand Knight Daniel Tafoya constructed the statue from metal, and a local artist volunteered to paint it. McCauley Construction installed the statue and provided light landscaping at no cost. Council 9801 paid about $700 to add lighting and a plaque to the statue’s display.
Teeing Up for Special Olympics
St. Gerard Majella Council 6884 in Seneca, S.C., and Villano Council 9576 in Pickens jointly hosted their 38th annual golf tournament at Oconee Country Club. More than 110 golfers participated, and $32,500 was raised for Special Olympics South Carolina’s Area 13, which serves more than 800 Special Olympics athletes in Pickens and Oconee counties. Since its founding, the tournament has raised over $423,000.
Pennies Can Move Mountains
St. Thomas the Apostle Council 9550 in Montevallo, Ala., organized a baby bottle drive at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. After six weeks, nearly $4,800 and around 400 pounds of baby formula were collected for clients of Positive Choices Pregnancy Center. The donation was made through ASAP, so the center will receive an additional $400 from the Supreme Council.
First Look at Life
Throughout the 2024-2025 fraternal year, the Luzon South Council organized 45 ultrasound events across the jurisdiction, helping more than 6,500 pregnant women see the life of the child growing inside of them.
Service in Our Veins
Rivière-du-Loup (Québec) Council 2402 partnered with Héma-Québec to organize four blood drives in 2024, collecting 900 units of blood. The council has hosted blood drives for 50 years, approximately 20,000 units collected over that time.
Ride for Life
Knights from several Illinois councils participated in a rosary motorcycle ride, stopping at five churches northwest of Chicago to pray a decade of the rosary for an end to abortion. The ride has been held annually since 2010. It was started by Deacon Jerry Giessinger of St. John the Baptist Council 9167 in Johnsburg and Joe Taylor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 10678 in Crystal Lake.
Lifeline for Many Tomorrows
George F. Monaghan Council 2690 in Livonia, Mich., recently surpassed 2,690 units of blood collected through blood drives sponsored by the council with Versiti Blood Center of Michigan. For more than a decade, the council has worked with Versiti to host six blood drives each year.
Breakfast for Champions
St. Francis of Assisi Council 2146 in Welland, Ontario, donated $1,400 — proceeds from the council’s annual fundraiser breakfast — to Special Olympics Welland Pelham.
Boogie for a Cause
Msgr. J.M. Hanson Council 5038 in Ankeny, Iowa, organized its 15th annual fundraiser for InnerVisions HealthCare, a women’s health clinic, at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Church. About 250 people attended, including members of over 25 councils from central Iowa, and the event raised over $60,000 for the clinic. Since 2010, the event has raised more than $486,000 for the center.
5,000 and Counting
For nearly 30 years, All Saints Council 9709 in Raleigh, N.C., has organized semiannual blood drives in partnership with the American Red Cross and St. Francis of Assisi Parish. More than 5,000 units of blood were collected in that time.
Cribs of Love
Corpus Christi Council 14132 in Celebration, Fla., organized its biannual Stuff the Crib fundraiser at Corpus Christi Catholic Church to support JMJ Pregnancy Center in Orlando. Over the course of two weekends, $2,700 worth of baby items were collected for the center. Council 14132 has held this fundraiser for the past decade, with donations totaling about $50,000 worth of supplies.
Flipping for Life
Allouez Council 658 in Rock Island, Ill., hosted its annual pro-life breakfast at St. Pius X Parish, serving about 250 people. The event raised $4,000, split evenly among four area pro-life organizations in northwest Illinois and eastern Iowa: Quad City Right to Life, Christ Child Society of the Quad Cities, Pregnancy Resources and The Women’s Choice Center. An additional $400 donation was made by the Supreme Council through ASAP, with $200 each going to Pregnancy Resources and The Women’s Choice Center.
Gourds of Goodness
Victory Council 12900 in Columbus, Ohio, raised over $1,000 from its annual pumpkin sale fundraiser at Our Lady of Victory Parish. The funds were split between the Heinzerling Foundation in Columbus and Misericordia Home in Chicago, two organizations that help people with developmental disabilities. Unsold pumpkins were donated to the Brian Muha Foundation, which operates a school that serves low-income families.
Orange you Making a Difference?
Ten Knights from James Francis Cardinal McIntyre Council 6332 in Mission Viejo, Calif., and their family members were among the more than 1,000 pro-life demonstrators who participated in the annual Orange Walk for Life organized by the Diocese of Orange and the Orange County K of C Chapter. Knights helped lead a Eucharistic procession around Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove and served as ushers for the Mass before the walk.
Chipping in for Life
Marshall (Texas) Council 1422 organized a Knights for Life golf tournament at Oak Lawn Golf Course. About 40 people participated, raising $25,000 to support the purchase of a van to carry a mobile ultrasound machine for the Marshall Pregnancy Resource Center. Council 1422 filed a request for the donation to be matched by the Supreme Council through the Ultrasound Initiative.
Prayerful Witness for Life
Four members of Art Rooney Sr. Council 9984 in Glenshaw, Pa., carried a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe during a candlelight procession from Epiphany Church to Family Planning and Abortion Clinic in Pittsburgh. About 400 people participated in the mile-long procession, praying the rosary for the protection of life.
