Prayers for the Dead
Knights from three councils in Stalowa Wola, Poland, pray at the grave of Władysław Borek, a member of St. Padre Pio Council 15759 who died in 2020. Each year, Knights go to the local cemetery to pray a Divine Mercy Chaplet for deceased priests who ministered in the city and for other deceased Knights.
Christ the Worker, Hear Our Prayer

Blessed Founder’s Relics Visit Ukraine

Priest Appreciation

Honoring a Legacy

We Walk in Faith
Knights from Our Lady of Visitation Council 17496 in Tayabas, Luzon South, assemble with families after a Mass and K of C Pilgrim Icon prayer service in the rural village of Sitio Busal. Twenty Knights walked nearly three hours — including crossing a river on foot — to reach Sitio Busal, where the Knights gathered for Mass and led a procession with the St. Joseph icon. During the visit, Knights distributed care packages to more than 70 families and held the area’s first exemplification, bringing five new members into the Order.

Memorial Mass

Greenhouse Crew

Donated by another local school, the structure will allow Holy Family students to take horticultural classes. More than 10 Knights helped move the greenhouse from one school to the other.
Christ the King Honor Guard

Mass Kits for Zimbabwe Priests
Grand Knight Nicholas Andersen (right) and Father John Vallier, chaplain of Bishop Haas Council 4362 in Wyoming, Mich., present a Mass kit to Sienna Mavima, a parishioner of St. John Vianney Catholic Church who will personally deliver the kit to a local priest during a visit to Zimbabwe. Council 4362 has donated Mass kits to priests in Zimbabwe, who often travel long distances to celebrate Mass for rural communities, since 2018.

Church Cleaners

Military Ministry

Heart-to-heart Encounter
Knights from Sta. Quiteria Council 8751 in Caloocan City, Luzon North, engage in discussion during a recent Cor gathering. In February 2024, Council 8751 began organizing monthly Cor gatherings that are routinely attended by 10 or more men from St. Francis of Assisi & Sta. Quiteria Parish.
Cruisin’ Through Seminary
Knights from Immaculate Conception Council 14962 in Columbus, Ohio, present keys to a used car to Benedictus Adjanoh, a Diocese of Columbus seminarian and a member of Pontifical College Josephinum Council 15009. Council 14962 purchased the car from an Immaculate Conception Church parishioner for $3,500, bought new plates and six months of car insurance, and had it blessed by pastor and council chaplain Father Matthew Hoover. After completing this academic year at the Josephinum, Adjanoh will continue his studies at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and School of Theology in Cincinnati beginning this fall.
Feast Day Honor Guard

Father Mcgivney, Pray for Kylar!
Kylar Gillig, a 7-year-old from All Saints Parish in New Riegel, Ohio, was diagnosed last year with a rare type of cancer that forms on the brain stem. Sts. Francis and Gaspar Council 10749 responded by organizing a 12-hour prayer vigil at the church, reciting the prayer for the canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney at the top of each hour. The council later received a first-class relic of Father McGivney to accompany a novena for Kylar. The relic was available for private veneration each of the nine days, with Knights and parishioners gathering each night to pray together.

Shroud Unveiled
Queen of Angels Council 15719 in Newport Beach, Calif., organized a conference at Our Lady, Queen of Angels Parish about the scientific evidence for the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin. More than 200 people attended the event.

Brotherly Service
When Father Steven Roth, vocations director for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, asked if any local Knights would be able to assist the archdiocese’s seminarians with their annual service day project, members of Loyola University Maryland Council 15000 in Baltimore answered the call. After beginning the day with Mass, the seminarians and college Knights joined forces to paint dorm rooms in the Msgr. O’Dwyer Retreat House in Sparks, which is frequently used by parish confirmation groups for weekend retreats.

Prost!
Holy Trinity Council 17034 in Spruce Grove, Alberta, organized an Oktoberfest fundraising dinner that was attended by 200 parishioners. The event raised CA$10,000, which the council donated to the parish for the purchase of new vestments.

To Sisters’ Aid
For the past several years, St. Clare Roseville (Calif.) Council 12887 has supported the Missionaries of Charity community in Sacramento. The Knights recently noticed the convent needed work and decided to do it themselves. They removed an old shed that was leaking and purchased a new one to replace it. Council 12887 also worked with Natanael Perez — grand knight of St. Rose Council 16475 in Sacramento and a concrete laborer — to refinish the convent’s garage floor.

Parish Lecture Series
Dr. Moira McQueen, executive director of the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute, spoke about the Catholic perspective on medical assistance in dying and palliative care in Canada during a lecture hosted by St. Gianna Beretta Molla Council 14749 in Brampton, Ontario, at St. Anne’s Parish. This was the latest in Council 14749’s “Revitalization of our Faith Speaker Series,” an annual lecture that the council has organized since 2018.

Eagles Receive Biblical Wings
For about 30 years, Father O’Hanlon Council 4678 in State College, Pa., has given a new Bible to parishioners of local Catholic churches who achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. About 100 Bibles have been given in that time, with one or more Knights attending each scout’s Court of Honor ceremony to make the presentation.

Carrying the Cross for Seminarians
Transfiguration Council 10362 in Marietta, Ga., organized the 4th Annual Carry the Cross Challenge at Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park to raise money for Archdiocese of Atlanta seminarians. Fifteen teams, each made up of about six people, carried 40-pound wood crosses 5.5 miles up the mountain. Through a combination of pledges and donations for the event, other vocations fundraisers, and the Order’s Refund Support for Vocations Program, this year’s event raised more than $27,000. The money was distributed among more than 40 archdiocese seminarians.

Ite Ad Joseph
St. Molua Council 4075 in Seaford, Del., organized a Pilgrim Icon prayer service with an icon of St. Joseph at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Nearly 20 Knights and parishioners attended the service, which was led by faith director Freddy Jalot Jr.

Pillar of Parish Support
Gilmour Council 310 in Highland Heights, Ohio, recently donated $10,000 each to the three parishes the council serves: the Church of St. Clare in Lyndhurst to celebrate the parish’s 80th anniversary; St. Paschal Babylon Church in Highland Heights for its capital campaign; and St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Gates Mills. The funds came from the council’s Gilmour Trust, which was established in part with funds from the council’s sale of its home corporation building.

Charity’s at the Heart of the Matter
Our Lady of the Pillar Council 7534 in Half Moon Bay, Calif., raised $6,000 by selling artichoke hearts, romano beans and sprouts during the Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival. The fundraiser allowed Council 7534 to make donations to the Our Lady of the Pillar choir and a local senior center, and fund two scholarships for students of Our Lady of the Pillar Academy. The council has organized the fundraiser for more than 40 years.

Shroud Scholars
Our Lady of the Lake Council 13752 in Pocono Pines, Pa., organized a showing of the Man of the Shroud touring exhibit at St Maximilian Kolbe Parish. About 700 people visited the exhibit, which explained the history and scientific analysis behind the shroud, over the 10 days it was displayed at the parish. The traveling display is coordinated by the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe in Libertyville, Ill.

Fish for Fishers of Men
For the past three years, St. Cecilia Council 14368 in Demotte, Ind., and Msgr. Timothy F. Doody Council 9696 in Lowell have partnered to organize a fish fry to support the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana’s Endowment for Formation of Seminarians. Nearly $2,400 has been raised for the endowment since 2021.

Men of Faith
About 60 men from several local parishes attended a men’s conference organized by Father John Arens Council 9678 in Sun Lakes, Ariz. Several speakers presented on a range of subjects, including fatherhood, forgiveness, street evangelization and the Eucharist.

Prayer at Dawn
Mary, Cause of Our Joy Council 8447 in Muntinlupa, Luzon South, sponsored one of the nine Misa de Gallo liturgies — daily Masses celebrated at dawn for the nine days leading up to Christmas — at Mary, Cause of Our Joy Parish. After the Mass, Knights served breakfast to nearly 300 parishioners.

Pew Restoration
Father Hannas Council 10519 in Edmonton, Alberta, initiated a project to restore about 60 pews at St. Basil the Great Ukrainian Parish; cleaning solutions used to prevent the spread of COVID-19 had removed the pews’ varnish coating. Knights sanded and washed the pews before applying two new coats of varnish. Council 10519 covered the project’s costs, totaling about CA$500.

Pizza, Games and Catechism
Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Council 13145 in Baton Rouge, La., provided pizza and games for a “Day of Children” celebration attended by 150 catechism students and parents at St. Pius Church.

Gallant Gala Service
Members of three Georgia councils — Holy Trinity Council 8081 in Peachtree City, Archbishop Thomas A. Donnellan Council 7923 in Lilburn, and St. Benedict Council 10633 in Johns Creek — volunteered to help with Shepherds of the Meek Mission’s annual gala and 5K fundraiser run. Knights helped with setup and takedown, shuttle service, photography, and more. The two events raised $44,000 for the organization, which supports organizations located in developing nations that focus on serving children.

Ramp Installed
Knights from South Plainfield (N.J.) Council 6203 and other volunteers assemble near a new wheelchair ramp and lift they installed at the home of Maria Niemeyer, a parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church who needed a more accessible entrance to her home. The council covered the approximately $3,500 cost of the lift and ramp. Over the past several years, the Knights have helped install more than 30 ramps at the homes of people who need them.
Thanksgiving Food Boxes
Members of St. Joseph Council 4599 in Marietta, Ga., and volunteers from the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Joseph Parish pack Thanksgiving food boxes to be given to families in need in Cobb County. The effort, which is conducted annually by the parish’s outreach ministries, yielded more than 200 food boxes, totaling more than 10 tons of food.
Spreading Christmas Cheer

Holiday Feasts in Point Pleasant
Knights from St. Martha Council 7926 in Point Pleasant, N.J., assemble holiday meals for people in need. In 2024, council members served about 1,650 meals on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Knights have done this for more than 20 years, spending as much as $8,000 a year to prepare the holiday meals.
Mission of Charity

Presents and Food for All
Members of Mons. Fernando Ruiz Solorzano Council 13963 in Mérida, Mexico South, distribute toys and food to more than 60 families served by La Virgen del Árbol community kitchen in the Dzununcán precinct. The kitchen was established five years ago to serve children in the neighborhood, which is known for its high rate of poverty, violence and drug addiction. For the past three years, Council 13963 has made monthly donations of rice and beans to the kitchen in addition to annual Christmas distributions.

Toy Treasury
Past Grand Knight Philip Morrow (left) and treasurer Marv Maly of Onawa (Iowa)-Blencoe Council 6249 display some of the toys collected during the council’s Christmas toy drive. The council collected new toys, clothing and food during the drive and gave all donations — including more than $500 in cash — to West Central Community Action Outreach, which distributed the items among more than 75 local families in need.
Christmas Poster Contest

Food Bank Funding

Feed the Hungry
Members of Our Lady of Consolation y Correa Council 17553 in Intramuros, Luzon South, assemble behind a group of children during a food distribution organized in partnership with the Luzon South State Council. In December 2024, local councils organized more than 170 events to feed children in poor neighborhoods throughout the jurisdiction. Knights prepared and served porridge, bread and water to at least 12,500 children.

Boxes of Joy

Las Posadas Celebration

Senior Sustenance
Knights from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Council 16272 in Malolos City, Luzon North, visit with community members during the council’s recent meal distribution for older adults. About 60 people received medical attention during the event, which Council 16272 organizes twice a year — on Nov. 17, the patronal feast day of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish; and July 15, the date of the council’s chartering in 2015.

Students of the Month
Each month during the school year, St. Anthony Council 2439 in Sublimity, Ore., works with the staff at Regis St. Mary Catholic School in Stayton to select two high school students — one male and one female — who are exemplary in faith, service and leadership as students of the month. In January, junior Abby Searles and sophomore Benjamin Valladares-Cormier were recognized through the program.

Turkey Dinners Galore
Holy Trinity Council 12394 in El Dorado Hills, Calif., collected nearly 130 turkeys and $440 in cash donations from parishioners at Holy Trinity Parish. The food and money were donated to the Food Bank of El Dorado County for distribution to people in need.

Harvest of Charity
In 2010, members of Pére Donat LeBlanc Council 7334 in Shediac, New Brunswick, established a community garden at St. Joseph Parish to provide organic, high-quality food to the food bank at Vestiaire St-Joseph. The garden, which produced 550 pounds of vegetables this past harvest, was recently renamed in honor of Father Alphonse Richard, Council 7334’s longtime chaplain.

Scholarships Awarded
St. Thomas à Becket Council 9781 in Reston, Va., presented its annual $2,000 college scholarship to a high school senior from St. Thomas à Becket Catholic Church. Council 9781 also recently donated nearly $800 to ABC Women’s Health & Ultrasound Center and the Order’s United in Charity Fund.

Feeding the Hungry
Mother Seton Council 15540 in Three Bridges, N.J., recently donated $250 to the Flemington Area Food Pantry to help it prepare for its holiday-season needs. Earlier in 2024, Council 15540 donated more than 1,000 pounds of nonperishable food to the food pantry.

Helping Heroes’ Families
Holy Spirit Council 10502 in Palmyra, Pa., donated $3,000 — proceeds from the council’s annual charity golf tournament — to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The organization helps support the families of first responders and veterans by providing mortgage-free homes; in 2024, it delivered homes to more than 200 families.

Lyndhurst Loves K of C Turkeys
To help people in need during Thanksgiving, Gilmour Council 310 in Highland Heights, Ohio, distributed 400 turkeys to residents of the Lyndhurst area.

Hospitality for All
St. Nicholas Council 16230 in Tea, S.D., donated $1,100 to the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls. The organization provides emergency shelter and daily meals to families and individuals in need.

Full Bellies, Thankful Spirits
More than 200 guests were served a full Thanksgiving meal at the Senior Thanksgiving Dinner organized by Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima Council 7460 in Cornwall-On-Hudson, N.Y. The free dinner, held the week before Thanksgiving, is an annual tradition of Council 7460.

Home for the Holidays
In 2024, Dr. McDowell Council 2248 in Florham Park, N.J., spent nearly $60,000 to help 59 military personnel return home from their military assignments for holidays and other family events, such as funerals and births. The council first began supporting the travels of a few service members a year about five years ago; after hearing from service members about the great need for this support, Council 2248 expanded the program to serve even more people. The funds come primarily from the council’s annual golf outing.

Food Pantry Donation
St. Ann’s Council 14695 in Long Grove, Iowa, recently donated $20,000 — proceeds from its annual golf outing — to the North Scott Food Pantry in Eldridge. Since 2009, Council 14695 has donated over $185,600 to the food pantry.

Fueling Mentorship
St. Thomas More Council 8488 in Manhattan, Kan., organized a Thanksgiving dinner for about 50 mentors and children from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Council 8488 also donated $500 to the program last year, and several members serve as mentors.

Reason for the Season
For the past 16 years, Knights from Coeur de Leon Council 87 in Framingham, Mass., have erected “Keep Christ in Christmas” signs at four local Catholic churches. The signs are displayed from the beginning of Advent until the week after Epiphany.

Turkey Day Charity
St. Bernard Council 14269 in Brooklyn, N.Y., donated more than 100 turkeys — purchased at cost from a local grocery store — to parishes and food pantries in the area for distribution to people in need. Council 14269 also provided 10 complete turkey dinners to local families.

Scholars Supported
Sta. Quiteria Council 8751 in Caloocan City, Luzon North, donated school supplies — including pencils, notebooks and more — to students from Tombod Integrated School in Pangasinan. Over the past five years, Council 8751’s support for the school has included giving slippers and groceries to students in need, and donating speakers, ceiling fans, sports equipment and more.

Spaghetti Sustains Family
Dannemora (N.Y.) Council 2166 organized a spaghetti dinner and silent auction to assist the family of Past Grand Knight Mike Lavigne, who recently received a heart transplant after a lengthy illness. The event raised more than $15,000 to help the family with medical and travel expenses during Mike’s hospital stay and rehabilitation.

Monthly Family Breakfast
Every month, Knights from Springfield (Ill.) Council 364 prepare breakfast for families in need at an event organized by Helping Hands of Springfield. Council 364 has helped with the meals for five years, serving as many as 100 people each month.

Duty to God
Christ Our Redeemer Council 13527 and Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church in Niceville, Fla., recently recognized seven Scouts who completed the Pope Pius XII emblem program. The council donated $250 to buy facilitator guides, participant manuals, certificates and the Pope Pius XII emblems.

Holiday Feastin’
Blessed Sacrament Council 13240 in Clermont, Fla., donated 45 turkeys to Lake Hills Elementary School in Howey-in-the-Hills before Thanksgiving for families of students with disabilities. The council has made similar donations for more than five years.

Tuna Triumphs Over Hunger
Bishop Ruocco Council 9275 in Chelmsford, Mass., recently made its annual donation of more than 1,000 cans of tuna and 40 grocery gift cards worth $25 each to Lazarus House Ministries in Lawrence. The organization’s St. Martha’s Food Pantry serves more than 1,800 guests each week.

End-of-year Donations
During its December 2024 business meeting, South Plainfield (N.J.) Council 6203 donated $3,000 — proceeds from the council’s annual trivia night — to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The council also donated $1,000 each to the Church of the Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.

K of C Families Pack Food Boxes
Knights and family members of Potomac Council 9259 in Triangle, Va., and Father Vincent Capodanno Council 11958 in Quantico assembled packages of food during the Christmas season to that were distributed to 52 families in need. The two councils have collaborated on this Christmas food program for 35 years, helping feed more than 1,700 families.

Funding Holiday Meals
For nearly 20 years, Msgr. Joseph M. Donahue Council 12988 in Bedford, N.H., has raised funds from local residents and community organizations to support Thanksgiving meals prepared by Catholic Charities New Hampshire for people in need. This year’s drive generated a record-setting $16,200 — enough to provide more than 25,200 meals.

Fostering Fellowship
St. Thérèse Council 7406 in Mooresville, N.C., has organized monthly breakfasts at St. Thérèse Catholic Church for more than 25 years to foster community and fellowship among parishioners. At the December 2024 breakfast, Council 7406 collected more than 30 toys that it gave to United Carolinas Cavalry, which distributed the toys to families in western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.

Peabody’s Pilgrim Party
Leo Council 508 in Peabody, Mass., hosted a Thanksgiving meal for older adults at the Peter A. Torigian Senior Center. The Knights and their family members prepared and served food to more than 400 guests.

Medical Bill Relief
Warren Council 474 in Phillipsburg, N.J., recently donated $18,000 — proceeds from the council’s annual charity golf outing — to Nick and Amanda Devaney. Their 6-year-old son, Samuel, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer in 2023 and has undergone extensive treatment since then, including the removal of his left eye to eliminate the tumor. The money donated by the council will go toward treatments not covered by the family’s insurance, such as a prosthetic eye.

First Rate Float
Father Baumgartner Council 5452 in Rochester, Mich., partnered with Holy Family Catholic School and St. Andrew Catholic Church to enter a float in the Rochester Area Hometown Christmas Parade — the largest Christmas parade in the state. The float, part of Council 5452’s participation in the Keep Christ in Christmas program, featured a living Nativity scene, angelic characters and sacred music, and was awarded first place in the youth division. Fourth Degree Knights from Divine Mercy Assembly 3082 in Auburn Hills provided an honor guard that preceded the float.

Wife Appreciation
St. Mark Council 13225 in Belmont, Calif., organized its annual Wives Appreciation Dinner to recognize the support given to Knights by their spouses. Council members served their wives and council widows throughout the dinner, bringing them food and beverages, and gave them each a rose.

‘O Christmas Tree’
Good Shepherd Council 5573 in Plainfield, Ill., and the Friends of Good Shepherd women’s group from St. Mary Immaculate Parish participated in the Brookfield Zoo Chicago’s 2024 Tree Trim, an event where local organizations sponsor and decorate trees displayed at the zoo. Council 5573 invited parish families to make ornaments using recycled products and animal-safe materials, and the tree was displayed through the Advent and Christmas seasons.

Birthdays Bring Charity
For several years, St. James Council 9087 in Santiago City, Luzon North, has organized monthly food distributions for students at different public elementary schools. Knights who celebrate their birthdays in that month sponsor each distribution, feeding as many as 500 students each time.

Support for Doylestown Pupils
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Council 4160 in Doylestown, Pa., recently donated $8,000 to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Elementary School. The money — proceeds from the council’s fall golf outing — will provide tuition assistance to students in need and also help pay for any of the school’s urgent needs.

Adopt-a-family
Each month since May 2024, St. Joseph Council 7413 in Erie, Mich., has donated $100 to the Elizabeth Foundation’s Adopt-A-Family program, feeding three families with twice-monthly food distributions. The Elizabeth Foundation was established by Ronald Rathburn of St. John Neumann Council 16169 in Canton and Martin Menard of Council 7413 as part of a 30-year effort to provide food to families in need locally and in the Philippines. Through the Adopt-A-Family program, donors choose families to support and develop a relationship with. Several councils in southeast Michigan support the foundation, working also with local councils in the Philippines to distribute food purchased with their donations.

Christmas Spread
Mary, Cause of Our Joy Council 8447 in Muntinlupa, Luzon South, helped provide food for a children’s Christmas party organized by Mahal Tayo ng Diyos, a local outreach program involved in Mary, Cause of Our Joy Parish’s evangelization efforts for children. About 120 children receive catechetical instruction from the organization.

Toys for Tots
Knights from St. Matthew Council 14360 in Norwalk, Conn., assisted the local Marine Toys for Tots program by picking up collection bins at 80 locations in the area. Council members then helped distribute more than 9,000 toys to children in need.

Santa Comes to School
Members of Aldo J. Zazzi Council 6992 in Kingsport, Tenn., organized a Breakfast with Santa for more than 300 students and family members from St. Dominic School. In addition to meeting Santa, each student received gift bags with candy. Council 6992 also collected $800 in a free-will offering for a school family that recently lost one of its young children.

Sweet, Sweet Corn
For the past several years, Knights from Sts. Peter and Paul Council 10052 in Braham, Minn., have planted and harvested about one acre of sweet corn for the council’s annual sweet corn fundraiser. In 2024, Council 10052 harvested more than 14,600 ears of corn, saving about 2,600 for later use and selling the rest — generating about $5,500 to support the council’s donations to local food banks, pregnancy resource centers, scholarships to local high school seniors and more.

Holly Jolly Pancakes
More than 500 people attended a Breakfast with Santa organized by St. Mary’s of the Grove Council 11138 in Tampa, Fla., at St. Mary Catholic Church. This was the fourth year Council 11138 has organized the breakfast.

Tuition Assistance
Hoffman-Schaumburg Council 6964 in Hoffman Estates, Ill., donated $15,000 to St. Hubert Catholic School for its tuition assistance fund. The fund is named in honor of Father Mike Scherschel, a former council chaplain who died in 2023.

Joining Forces for Christmas Display
Members of Father Howard J. Lesch Council 7667, Christ Our Redeemer Council 13527 and Niceville (Fla.) Bluewater Bay Assembly 3236 in Niceville partnered to walk in the city’s Christmas parade. The Knights carried a Keep Christ in Christmas banner and a trailer holding a Nativity scene.

Lending a Helping Hand
Members of Msgr. James J. Zegers Council 9113 in Marmora, N.J., worked with other local organizations to organize its annual Holiday Helping Hand program to support families in Cape May County. Knights and other volunteers prepared and distributed food boxes containing food for Christmas breakfast and dinner, as well as toys from the Toys for Tots program, to more than 80 local families comprising about 300 total people.

Corporal Works of Mercy
St. Paul Council 6306 in Highland Park, N.J., used proceeds from its recent pancake breakfasts to purchase more than 40 blankets and nearly 150 sets of hats and gloves for families staying at Ozanam Family Shelter. The shelter, which is operated by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Metuchen, provides shelter for 16 single women and 26 families.

Traveling Toy Distribution
Immaculate Conception Taft (Texas) Council 15512 organized its 5th Annual Toy Parade, which consisted of Knights and other volunteers from Immaculate Conception Church driving around town distributing about 300 toys to children.

Noche Buena Festivities
Members of Holy Spirit Council 13919 in Malolos City, Luzon North, distributed 300 Noche Buena care packages to local families in need. The Noche Buena distribution is a Christmas Eve tradition in the Philippines.

Festive Feasting
Msgr. McCarthy Council 5902 in Carbonear, Newfoundland and Labrador, organized Christmas meals for students and staff at two local K-8 schools. Knights prepared and served a turkey dinner to 250 at Persalvic Elementary School in Victoria and a pancake breakfast for 400 at Carbonear Academy.

Santa’s Sleigh — From Sterling to Cebu
In early 2023, Financial Secretary Dennis Boren and District Deputy Mario Sangeleer of Sterling (Colo.) Council 1559 discussed ways the council could help underprivileged people around the world. Sangeleer, whose wife is from Cebu, Philippines, suggested supporting children from Our Lady of Divine Providence Home in Cebu. Over the better part of two years, Council 1559 collected toys and school supplies, which Sangeleer delivered while visiting the Philippines for Christmas 2024. He traveled to the children’s home dressed as Santa Claus for a Noche Buena meal at the home on Christmas Eve.

Turkey Delight
Msgr. Bishop Council 2112 in Orlando, Fla., organized a food drive with Good Shepherd Catholic Church’s youth ministry program, collecting nearly 100 turkeys and other food that were distributed to parish families. The council and parish youth also partnered to stuff 100 stockings with school supplies, hygiene products and toys for children experiencing or at risk for homelessness. The stockings were given to a local organization for distribution to young people in need.

Community Celebration
About 100 people attended the annual Christmas party organized by Mother Seton Council 5427 in Washington Township, N.J., for the organizations supported by the council throughout the year, including Children’s Family Services in Paramus, New Hope Pregnancy Resource Center in Westwood and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Washington Township.

Boxes and Boxes of Food
Knights and volunteers from Longview (Texas) Council 2771 and St. Mary’s Council 11093 filled nearly 650 boxes with food purchased using more than $12,000 in cash donations collected by the councils. Council members then personally delivered some boxes to recipients’ homes, while others were given to community organizations like Child Protective Services for distribution to people in need. The council has organized this event annually since the 1970s.

Veterans’ Holiday Feasts
Msgr. Adolph A. Kantor Assembly 733 in Utica, N.Y., donated more than 100 turkeys and more than 400 pounds of food to the Veterans Outreach Center in Utica. The food was distributed to local veterans in need for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.

Holiday Cheer
Father John Crowley Council 3199 in Ridgecrest, Calif., organized its 30th Annual Christmas Community Dinner at St. Ann Parish. More than 600 meals were served at the parish hall, and Knights delivered 200 more meals to homebound community members.

During the event, 1,000 people received free medical, dental and vision checkups, as well as free legal advice.
Coats Have International Impact
Knights and family members from St. Nicholas Byzantine Ukrainian Council 7659 in Calgary, Alberta, gather with members of the Ukrainian Wings youth hockey team after presenting them with winter jackets donated through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program. The team, composed of girls ages 11-13 from different regions of Ukraine, arrived in Calgary to compete in the WickFest Female Hockey Festival, but the contingent was unprepared for the frigid weather conditions that awaited them. After learning of the team’s need, Council 7659 gave players and coaches a total of 18 winter jackets, as well as mitts and hats.
Helping Hands

Québécois Coats
Beauce Council 2283 in Saint-Georges, Quebec, donated 24 winter jackets to the Maison de la Famille Beauce-Etchemins, a local family services center that will distribute the clothing to children in need. The donation was made through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program.

Safety First
After members of Msgr. William S. Bevington Council 9132 in Hendersonville, Tenn., learned that hundreds of nails in the three bridges along the city’s Greenway Trail were popping up, creating a safety hazard, the council decided to tackle the problem. Knights worked for two weeks with the city’s public works department to gather tools and plan the service project and then spent four days hammering down about 1,000 nails and installing nearly 8,000 screws to secure the bridges’ 2,600 boards.

Remembrance Day
Members of Dalton Assembly 1645 in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and Labrador, provided an honor guard and placed a ceremonial wreath during a Remembrance Day ceremony at the town’s cenotaph. Assembly members also prepared Canadian flags to be placed at the graves of veterans buried in Harbour Grace.

Wheelchair Chili Cookoff
St. Edward the Confessor Council 14512 in Spring, Texas, organized its 12th Annual Chili Cookoff to benefit the American Wheelchair Mission. The event raised more than $25,500 — enough to purchase 170 wheelchairs for people in need.

Veterans Day Reception
Members of St. Martin Assembly 2708 in Carlisle, Pa., prepared and served food to about 60 people who attended the annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial in Enola.

Kentucky Coats for Kids
Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary Council 14372 in Lexington, Ky., donated nearly 400 winter jackets to students at 13 local elementary and middle schools through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program. This was Council 14372’s seventh year participating in the program.

Broadway Bucks for Hurricane Relief
Msgr. Joseph Ferrito Council 7536 in Montville, N.J., and John Fitzgerald Kennedy Council 5486 in Lincoln Park partnered to host a Broadway-style show at a local performing arts theater. The proceeds — more than $3,000 — were donated to Catholic Charities USA for its Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

Supporting Worthy Causes
Light of Christ Council 8726 in Sinking Spring, Pa., raised $19,000 during its annual charity golf tournament. The funds were divided evenly among four organizations: Mary’s Shelter, Opportunity House, John Paul II Center for Special Learning and the St. Ignatius Loyola Scholarship Fund.

Honoring Brothers’ Service
Father Richard C. Joyce Council 2270 in Montgomery, N.Y., commissioned a memorial tombstone engraved with the names of deceased council members who were veterans. The memorial rests under the flagpole at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Winter Clothing Drive
Holy Trinity Council 17034 in Spruce Grove, Alberta, organized a monthlong winter clothing drive at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and three local schools to benefit people in need. The drive resulted in more than 600 winter jackets, as well as several boots, gloves, scarves and snowsuits, being donated to Alberta Parenting for the Future Association.

D-day Hero Honored
Frank DeVita, a member of Our Lady of the Hills Council 5959 in Martinsville, N.J., served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and operated a landing craft during the D-Day invasions of Normandy. After he died in 2022, Council 5959 organized a letter-writing campaign to convince the Coast Guard to name one of its commissioned vessels in DeVita’s honor. Thanks to the council’s campaign, a sentinel ship bearing DeVita’s name is expected to be commissioned by December 2026.

West Virginia Warmth
St. Agnes-Shepherdstown (W. Va.) Council 13887 purchased 240 winter jackets through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program for children in need. The coats were distributed through several organizations, including the Salvation Army, local churches and elementary schools, and a day care center.

First Aid Training
Ten members of St. Mark Council 13225 in Belmont, Calif., attended first-aid training to learn CPR and how to use automated external defibrillators. The training, organized by council member Luke Castell, prepared the Knights to provide medical attention to people in need during Mass or other functions at St. Mark Catholic Church until first responders arrive.

15 Years of Covington Coats
Harry J. Tucker Jr. Council 11780 in Covington, Wash., raised more than $5,000 to purchase more than 300 winter jackets for local elementary school students. This marked the 15th year Council 17780 participated in the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program.

Honoring Sacrificial Service
Ithaca (N.Y.) Council 277 organized a Veterans Day service at Queen of Peace Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery. During the ceremony, Knights placed memorial wreaths, each representing veterans from different wars, near the mausoleum. The ceremony was led by council treasurer Daniel Week, a retired U.S. Navy captain.

Winter Clothing Donated
Iron River (Mich.) Council 2300 recently organized its first participation in the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program, donating more than 130 jackets to local middle and high school students.

Care for Homeless Vets
Staten Island (N.Y.) Council 1662 recently donated more than 200 blankets, 22 tents and 20 boxes of toiletries to veterans struggling with homelessness in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Council 1662 raised $7,800 to purchase the items.

PA Coats Distribution
St. Padre Pio Assembly 2768 in Jermyn, Pa., donated 24 winter jackets to the Mayfield campus of Lakeland Elementary School. The Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids donation was made in honor of assembly member Joseph Mark Sr., who died in November 2024 and was a Knight for 25 years.

Salute to Vets
St. Thomas the Apostle Council 4815 in Old Bridge, N.J., organized a ceremony to honor veterans from St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The event included the placement of U.S. flags in front of the church for each parishioner currently or previously serving in the military, as well as a short prayer service led by Father Jerome Johnson, pastor and a brother Knight.

Nothing but Net
A dozen children competed in the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship organized Jan. 5 by Iowa Great Lakes Council 5043 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. A few weeks earlier, Council 5043 and Iowa State Deputy John McGee presented Claire Kruger with a trophy recognizing her as a winner of the 2023-2024 International Soccer Challenge.

Meals for Vets
St. Joseph Council 3402 in Keyport, N.J., sponsored a Christmas luncheon for residents of the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park. Knights served hot meals to more than 40 veterans.

Solidarity With Survivors
St. Francis Council 5080 in North York, Ontario, helped place Concord Adex Survivors Fund Angel Trees around Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport during the Christmas season. A total of more than 900 ornaments adorned the trees; each ornament represented a human trafficking survivor supported by the fund since 2021.

Webster (N.Y.) Warmth
Trinity Council 4618 in Webster, N.Y., raised $14,400 to purchase 528 winter coats for children in need. The Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids were distributed at 30 charitable organizations, schools and churches in the area.

Wreaths Honor Vets
Father James F. O’Reilly Assembly 2507 in Hoover, Ala., honored veterans and active servicemembers, including prisoners of war and those missing in action, by displaying memorial wreaths in the gathering space at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Habitat for Humanity
In December 2024, nine members of George C. Shields Council 420 in Mansfield, Mass., participated in a Habitat for Humanity build that will house a local family. Council 420 participated in the project as part of the council’s celebration marking 125 years since its chartering in 1899.

Putting Kids First
Some 1,500 winter jackets, donated by Bishop Flaget Council 13053 in Prospect, Ky., through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program, were distributed to children in need this winter in partnership with several local organizations. Council 13053 also recently donated $10,000 — later matched by an anonymous donor — to Gilda’s Club for the organization’s programs supporting children with cancer and their families, and $3,000 to the Golden Arrow Center, a pro-life ministry at the Shrine of St. Martin of Tours in Louisville.

Italian Heritage Festival
Knights from St. Vincent Pallotti Council 14535 and St. Joseph Assembly 3502 in Baltimore helped lead the opening ceremonies for the annual Italian Heritage Fall Festival in Towson with help from the Maryland State Council’s color guard and flag team. Vice Supreme Master Francis Leach delivered remarks during the event, which was organized in connection with Columbus Day. Several Knights are involved each year in the event’s planning.

Coat Drive
Members of St. Patrick Parish in Yorkville, Ill., donated about 330 winter jackets during a coat drive organized by God’s Divine Mercy Council 14463. The jackets, including more than 70 purchased through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program, were given to several local charitable organizations for distribution to people in need.

Fierce Fundraisers
St. Joseph Council 15304 in Spirit Lake, Idaho, organized a fundraiser that generated $11,000. The funds were distributed among several organizations, including three local food banks, two pregnancy resource centers and the American Wheelchair Mission.

Wood County Warmth
Perrysburg (Ohio) Council 7978 donated a total of more than 1,200 winter jackets through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program to different charitable organizations in Wood County and the Toledo area for distribution to children in need. The council organized a charity golf outing to fund the coat distribution.

Moving Wreath Ceremony
Knights from Most Holy Trinity Assembly 3625 in Pass Christian, Miss., provided a color guard for a Wreaths Across America ceremony at Rotten Bayou Cemetery in Diamondhead. The event honored all veterans buried at the cemetery.

500+ Jackets
To provide warmth to children and adults in need, St. Ann Council 12886 in Emmaus, Pa., purchased more than 500 winter jackets through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program and collected 130 more from parishioners at St. Ann Church.

Winter Weather Protection
Sts. Cosmas and Damian Council 13341 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., donated more than 400 coats to children from St. Michael Catholic Church in Wauchula. Knights and family members drove about an hour to personally deliver the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids to the parish children, many of whom come from migrant farm worker families; to show their gratitude, the children sang Christmas carols. Council members also travel to Wauchula every Friday to unload, sort and store 11,000 pounds of donated food for the parish food pantry, which serves as many as 300 families in need each week.

Recognizing Military Service
In November 2024, Columbian Council 2191 in Batavia, Ill., held a ceremony to recognize all 33 council members who served in the military. Each veteran received a Council 2191 challenge coin during the event, which was the first of its kind organized by the council.

No Freezing in Fairmont
Marian Council 942 in Fairmont, W.Va., has participated in the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program for several years. This year, the council donated nearly 100 jackets to the Marian County Board of Education for distribution to children in need.

Donation to American Legion
John C. Burke Council 4897 in Waupun, Wis., donated $500 each to three local American Legion posts. The funds came from the council’s brat fries this past summer.

Wyoming Warmth
St. Patrick Council 9917 in Casper, Wyo., raised more than $8,000 for the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program. Council 9917 then worked with Love in Action and Youth for Christ to distribute more than 700 winter jackets to children in need.

Father Joseph M. Baker Council 3599 in Panama City, Fla., purchased a total of 48 jackets through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program. Four coats were given to a recent widow with four children, and the rest were split among St. Dominic Catholic Church, Boys & Girls Club of Bay County and Margaret K. Lewis School — which serves students with disabilities — for distribution to people in need.

Record-setting Donation
Members of Trinity Council 1466 in Le Mars, Iowa, present a check for nearly $50,000 to Jessica La Fleur, executive director of Life Skills Training Center, which helps adults with disabilities find employment and develop general work skills. The funds came from Council 1466’s annual phonathon fundraiser that raised more than $55,000 last year; the council also donated about $5,500 to Special Olympics Iowa. Since 1980, the fundraiser has generated more than $1.8 million for organizations that support people with disabilities.
Funding Adaptable Education
Richard Braun, a member of Msgr. Condon Council 3805 in Reedsburg, Wis., presents a check for nearly $900 to Principal Karen Marklein and students from Sacred Heart School. Kandu Spirit
Knights from St. Mary Council 6547 in Milton, Wis., stand with a client from KANDU Industries, a local organization that provides daily living skills training, adult day services, memory care and job opportunities to people with disabilities. KANDU recently moved to a new building in Milton, and members of Council 6547 were able to take a tour of the new facility while meeting with KANDU staff to discuss opportunities for collaboration. Council 6547 subsequently organized a service day to help paint the facility ahead of its grand opening and donated $2,500 to support KANDU’s mission.
300th Baby Box
Members of Father J.A. Leaders of Industry
St. Joseph Council 3792 in Milford, Del., donated $1,600 — proceeds from its annual fund drive for people with disabilities — to Kent-Sussex Industries Inc. to support the organization’s training and education services for people with disabilities. Since 2016, Council 3792 has given the organization more than $16,000.

Ultrasound Fundraiser
Sacred Heart Cathedral Council 5207 in Knoxville, Tenn., held a wine and cheese fundraiser to help fund a mobile ultrasound unit for Catholic Charities of East Tennessee. The event raised $50,000 for the project.

Strongsville Supports Special Needs
St. Francis of Assisi Council 10792 in Strongsville, Ohio, donated about $3,200 to organizations that support people with disabilities, including more than $2,400 to the adaptive faith formation program at St. Joseph Catholic Church and $800 to Strongsville Special Olympics.

ASAP Donation
Holy Angels Council 10948 in Colma, Calif., recently donated $1,300 in cash and $1,200 worth of baby supplies to Alpha Pregnancy Center in San Francisco. Because the donation was made through the Order’s ASAP (Aid and Support After Pregnancy) program, the Supreme Council donated an additional $400 to the center.

Walking With Moms in Need
Msgr. Gregory Kennedy Council 10499 in Ocean Springs, Miss., organized a baby bottle drive at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church to benefit the Diocese of Biloxi’s Walking with Moms in Need program. The drive raised more than $5,000.

Thanksgiving Meal for Moms
Temple (Texas) Council 3444 purchased enough food from a local restaurant to feed about 50 residents and clients of Our Lady of Angels Maternity Shelter for Thanksgiving. Council 3444 has provided the holiday meal for 26 years; this year, the Knights also donated $1,000 to the home.

Baby Bottle Success
St. Catherine of Siena Council 6980 in Portage, Mich., collected more than $6,800 from a baby bottle fundraiser at St. Catherine of Siena Parish to benefit Caring Network, a pregnancy resource center operated by Catholic Charities Diocese of Kalamazoo. Council 6980 also collected portable cribs, diapers, wipes and baby clothing during the drive for Caring Network’s clients. The Supreme Council donated an additional $400 to the center through the ASAP program.

A New Home for Moms and Babies
St. John XXIII Council 6250 in Charleston, S.C., recently presented a $40,000 donation to St. Clare’s Home, a ministry of the Diocese of Charleston, to support the construction of a new maternity home. The donation included $30,000 from Council 6250 and $10,000 from a baby bottle drive it organized with pro-life ministries at the Church of the Nativity.

Canton’s Can-do Knights
Msgr. Clement H. Kern Council 8284 in Canton, Mich., organized two fund drives for people with disabilities in 2024, raising more than $6,400 to benefit Michigan Special Olympics and two local organizations that serve people with disabilities. Since 2012, the council’s fund drives have raised more than $117,000 for the organizations.

Support to Spare
Dr. John M. McLoughlin Council 2325 in Oregon City, Ore., donated $1,000 to Special Olympics of Clackamas County to sponsor a bowling league for people with disabilities. Council member Stephen Ford coached one of the league’s teams for the three-month season.

Iron Horses for Special Needs
Iron River (Mich.) Council 2300 conducted its 49th annual fund drive for people with disabilities, collecting more than $3,000 for the special education program at West Iron Public Schools.

Christmas Party for Special Needs Community
South Plainfield (N.J.) Council 6203 and the Plainfield UNICO chapter sponsored their annual Christmas party for residents and staff from Keystone Community Living, which provides residential services to people with disabilities. Sixty residents and 20 staff members attended the event, which Council 6203 and UNICO have hosted for more than 35 years.

Fund Drive Excellence
Dixon (Ill.) Council 690 raised more than $5,400 during its annual fund drive for people with disabilities. The money was distributed among Kreider Services, which provides job training and jobs to people with disabilities; Special Olympics Illinois, for programs in Lee County; and the Lee County Special Education Association.

Buddy Ball Boosters
Piscataway (N.J.) Council 11017 and its associated women’s group organized a breakfast fundraiser that generated $1,700, which the groups donated to the Piscataway Buddy Ball program. Buddy Ball offers adaptive sports activities for children and young adults with disabilities.

Santa and Mrs. Claus Come to Town
Father James A. Hyland, C.S.S.P Council 10991 in Hemet, Calif., sponsored a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus to special education students at Little Lake Elementary School. The council also provided small gifts, worth a total of $400, for about 50 students in attendance.

Patrons of the Arts
Father Joseph M. Baker Council 3599 in Panama City, Fla., donated $500 to Pyramid, which provides visual and performing arts programs for people with disabilities. Council 3599 has supported Pyramid and other programs for people with disabilities for more than 10 years.
