This booklet examines the sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist under the dimensions of sacrifice, communion and eschatology, as well as offering a brief comparison of the ordinary and extraordinary forms of the celebration of the Holy Mass.
G. K. Chesterton once wrote, “It is impossible to be just to the Catholic Church. The moment men cease to pull against it they feel a tug towards it. The moment they cease to shout it down they begin to listen to it with pleasure. The moment they try to be fair to it they begin to be fond of it. But when that affection has passed a certain point it begins to take on the tragic and menacing grandeur of a great love affair.” This booklet focuses specifically on the Catholic Church, where it came from, what it is, and what is so unique about her. Learn about the infallibility of the Church, praying to saints, and why the Church is necessary for salvation. Thanks to the Saint Gregory Society for providing music.
The Catholic Church is going through a radical transition and the old ways of being a Catholic no longer work for many people, because society has changed. Attitudes have changed; educational styles have changed; our understanding of what the Faith is, and what it should do for us, has changed.
Why did the Church in 1997 bestow the title of “Doctor of the Church” on one so deeply esteemed as “the Little Flower?” In Thérèse’s own writings, which are not many, the saint makes reference to the Doctors of the Church no fewer than eleven times.
This booklet reflects upon the gift of priestly celibacy. It provides a renewed understanding and appreciation of the gift of celibacy.
