Prayer Time is a wonderful companion for families to use in order to grow in the spiritual life. How wonderful if families throughout the world would spend time together each day offering prayers found in this wonderful volume. It goes without saying, that Prayer Time is a useful guide for anyone who truly wants to grow in holiness.
This lesson seeks to show that the teaching of the Catholic Church on sexual ethics, far from enslaving persons, liberates them and enables them to become fully themselves. The Catholic Church's teaching helps people come into possession of their desires and not be possessed by them. It does so because it is rooted in a profound reverence for human persons, male and female, as bodily, sexual beings, summoned from their depths to self-giving.
The eighth Commandment is really much more far-reaching than it seems. It forbids not only perjury, false oaths, calumny, and slander, but all kinds of falsehood, and commands total truthfulness.
The source and summit of the Christian life, the sacramental center for Catholics, is the holy Eucharist. Like Christ, the holy Eucharist is controversial and divisive. When Jesus initially taught crowds of people about the holy Eucharist, many of them left (see the Gospel of John 6:60). Today, the question still comes to us: “will you also go away?” (John 6:67). Is the holy Eucharist actually a sacrifice? Should we worship the Eucharist? Thanks to the Saint Gregory Society and The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis Choir for providing music.
