Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC to Address College Knights

    6/2/2021

The Knights of Columbus is excited to announce that Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC will be the keynote speaker at the 56th annual College Councils Conference. This year’s College Councils Conference is being held September 24-26, 2021 in New Haven, CT under the theme “Go to Joseph”.

A convert to Catholicism, Fr. Calloway is a member of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. Before his conversion, he was a high school dropout who had been kicked out of a foreign country, institutionalized twice, and thrown in jail multiple times. After his radical conversion, he earned a BA in philosophy and theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio; MDiv and STB degrees from the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C.; and an STL in Mariology from the International Marian Research Institute in Dayton, Ohio. He leads pilgrimages to Marian Shrines around the world and is the author of 14 books.

Fr. Calloway was ordained to the priesthood in 2003 and is perhaps most famous for authoring the best-selling book Consecration to St. Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father. Fr. Calloway’s devotion to St. Joseph and Our Lady, and his inexhaustible zeal for the priesthood, make him particularly apt to address college Knights during this Year of St. Joseph.

Ite Ad Joseph, or “Go to Joseph,” originates from the Old Testament (Gen. 41:55) but, has been adopted by innumerable saints and holy people throughout history including André Bessette, Teresa of Ávila, Francis de Sales, and Josemaría Escrivá. In issuing this call, the saints urge the faithful to turn to St. Joseph, the spouse of Our Lady, as a powerful intercessor and model of Christian virtue. This year’s conference theme echoes the voices of the saints and encourages college Knights to turn to the Patron of the Universal Church as an icon of trust, fortitude, and perseverance – an example of authentic masculine virtue.

Held annually since 1966, the College Councils Conference brings college Knights together from across the country and around the world. Attendees participate in a dynamic program of inspiring speakers, networking opportunities and leadership training.

Started in 1910, the Knights of Columbus College Councils program has spread to over 400 college and university campuses across the world, including over 200 in North America.
