Sam Delmer is the grand knight of Notre Dame Knights of Columbus Council 1477. Here he shares the Knights’ reaction to the K of C’s new video series.
A lot of guys are really excited about this program. Many of our members have expressed how they are proud to be part of an organization that is standing up for masculinity in these times.
After we watched the “Leadership” episode, we talked about the core elements of leadership — humility and striving for greatness — and how important it is for us to grow in these virtues, and all virtues, so that we can truly live for Christ. We also discussed how true masculinity is more than the conventional idea of manliness. For instance, being a good father is just as masculine as being a soldier. Why? Because true masculinity means following Christ and the will of God.
Notre Dame Knights of Columbus Council #1477 will be fully adapting their program to correspond to the university’s COVID-19 precautions. The council’s current plan is to connect virtually, through remote video or email discussions.
