Knights and their families, as well as all the faithful throughout the world, are urged to join Pope Francis in praying the rosary and also for the celebration Mass on Pentecost this weekend.
The faithful at Marian shrines around the globe will join Pope Francis on Saturday, May 30, in praying the rosary for aid during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The prayer will be broadcast live from the Grotto of Lourdes in the Vatican Gardens at 5.30 p.m. Rome time (11:30 a.m. ET). Decades of the rosary will be recited by people representing various groups that have been hard hit by the pandemic including medical personnel, people who have recovered from the illness and someone who lost a loved one to the pandemic among others.
Saturday’s recitation of the Rosary is “another sign of nearness and consolation for those affected by the coronavirus, in the certainty that our Heavenly Mother never refuses our pleas for protection” according to the Vatican News Service.
On Sunday, May 31, Pope Francis will celebrate Mass on the solemnity of Pentecost on at 10 a.m. Rome time (4 a.m. ET). Immediately afterwards, at noon, Pope Francis will recite the Regina Coeli prayer with the faithful from the window of his private study overlooking St. Peter's Square.

The Knights of Columbus is financially supporting both broadcasts.
“The Knights of Columbus considers it a privilege to play some small role in these and all the Holy Father’s major broadcasts, especially during the ongoing pandemic which has boldly highlighted the critical importance of these broadcasts to sustain and promote the spiritual bond between the Successor of St. Peter and the faithful around the world,” said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson
Knights have an extensive history of working with the Vatican in its telecommunications efforts, starting in 1965 when the Knights provided a shortwave transmitter for Vatican radio stations. Since 1977, the Knights have funded Vatican satellite broadcasts.
In 1985 the Knights of Columbus provided Centro Televisivo Vaticano (CTV) with a mobile television production studio and a grant to update its equipment. The Knights updated the Vatican’s communications in 1995, and again in 2010, presenting Pope Benedict XVI with a high-definition mobile broadcasting unit.
Supporting the ministry of the Holy Father, extending back a full century, is one of the ways the Knights demonstrate its commitment to charity and unity with the universal Church.
