Knights of Columbus members and their families are invited to participate in the annual Arizona Rosary Celebration through online livestream events sponsored by the Arizona Knights, Oct. 17-18.
For decades, the Arizona Knights have helped spread devotion to the Blessed Mother by sponsoring this celebration. This year, they will honor her under the title Our Lady, Undoer of Knots. The event will feature guest speakers, music, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the rosary and benediction.
Here’s how you can tune in to the two-day event:
On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 10:00 a.m. MST (1:00 p.m. ET) join the celebration online at diocesetucson.org/rosary. Presiding is Bishop Edward J. Weisenburger of Tucson.
On Sunday, Oct.18, at 2:00 p.m. MST (5:00 p.m. ET) join the celebration online at youtube.com/user/phoenixdiocese. Presiding is Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted of Phoenix.
The Arizona Rosary Celebration, now in its 45th year, normally brings together thousands to honor the Blessed Mother and pray the rosary. While COVID-19 restrictions won’t allow for the same in-person experience this year, the free livestream provides a chance for the faithful around the world to unite in prayer.
Former Knights of Columbus Supreme Master Larry Costanzo, who serves as chairman for the celebration, wrote in a recent message that while the physical presence of praying together will be missed, this year brings a unique opportunity.
He wrote that the Knights “want to seize the opportunity … to show our strength, ingenuity and unity in overcoming the obstacles we face and re-affirm our love for Mary and her Son, Jesus, as we pray her prayer together virtually.”
“We can look at this year’s virtual event as a magnificent chance to evangelize a more extensive audience than ever before,” he continued.
Bishop Thomas Olmsted, who will preside over the second day of the celebration, is the author of the apostolic exhortation Into the Breach, a call to battle for Catholic men which urges them to embrace masculine virtues. His words inspired a K of C-produced video series of the same name which seeks to answer the question of what it means to be a man in today's world.
