Into the Desert

Our Lady of Rocío, Pray for Us

Faith’s on the Menu

Patroness Parade

Knights from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Council 16272 in Malolos, Luzon North, carry a statue of their council’s and parish’s patroness through St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. The statue was placed in a vehicle as part of a motorcade celebrating the saint’s feast day. The council has helped with the event for eight years, with about 100 people participating this year.

Answering God’s Call

Bonne Mère Restored

Knights from several councils in Marseille, France, gather in the square of Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica during an event celebrating the restoration of Bonne Mère — the statue of Mary holding the child Jesus atop the basilica. Wise Men Still Seek Him

A Place to Remember

The donation came from proceeds of various council fundraisers and supported the church’s $275,000 columbarium project.

Marian Grotto

Auxiliary Bishop John Tran of Atlanta (second from left) and Father Brian Bufford (center), pastor of St. Anna Catholic Church in Monroe and council chaplain, join Knights from St. Anna Council 14425 in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the parish’s Marian Grotto. The council raised about $40,000 to fund the grotto, and Knights were among the volunteers who helped prepare the area.

Griddle Masters

Members of St. Monica Council 12861 in Richmond, British Columbia, cook pancakes at St. Monica Parish during the council’s Shrove Tuesday pancake meal for about 130 students, catechists and volunteers in the parish’s religious education program. Before serving the meal, the council helped coordinate a prayer service, during which last year’s blessed palms were burned for Ash Wednesday.

Seminarian Supper

Knights from councils and assemblies across the Archdiocese of Jaro, Visayas, gather in front of San Roque Chapel after it was blessed by Msgr. Mario Enarsao, moderator of Espousal of Our Lady Parish and a brother Knight. District Deputy Samuel Saul and Former District Deputy Jaymel Tingson organized a Mass and ceremony for the chapel, which was built in May 2024. Councils donated chairs and other materials for the chapel.

Mardis Gras Fun

Knights from Father Patrick O’Kelley Council 3860 in Dearborn, Mich., gather with staff and residents of Senior Clergy Village, a home for retired priests. The council provided a soup-and-salad lunch to celebrate Mardi Gras. This is the fifth year the council has hosted the event.

New Beginnings

More than 30 Fourth Degree Knights from assemblies in the Diocese of Phoenix stand with Auxiliary Bishop Peter Dai Bui of Phoenix outside Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church. The Knights provided an honor guard for a Mass celebrated by the bishop one day after supporting an exemplification ceremony for Vietnamese Martyrs Council 18891, which was chartered in April.

Church Restored

Joel VanLeeuwen of St. Paul (Kan.)–Walnut Council 760 sprays weather sealer on the exterior walls of St. Francis de Hieronymo Catholic Church. Following a request from Father Matthew Davied, pastor and a brother Knight, council members spent two days repairing and waterproofing the 142-year-old church building. The project also included removing and reinstalling the pews while the interior was painted.

Apostles on the Way

Knights from Banal na Sakramento Council 8753 in Quezon City, Luzon North, portraying the Twelve Apostles, carry a cross during a Via Crucis procession on Good Friday. More than 500 people participated in the nearly 5-mile procession, which was organized by the council and Banal na Sakramento Parish and for which Knights also served as marshals.

Wellspring of Healing

Knights from Sancta Familia Council 11498 in Sewell, N.J., gather around water from Lourdes, France, following a virtual tour of the miraculous Lourdes grotto hosted at the Church of the Holy Family. Councils and assemblies across the Diocese of Camden worked with Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality North American Volunteers to organize virtual pilgrimages to Lourdes at churches, an assisted living facility and a veterans home. More than 1,300 people participated, each receiving a bottle of water from the grotto, and over $9,000 was collected to support travel to Lourdes for people seeking healing.

Missionary Meals

Members of Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Council 1812 in Ottawa, Ontario, serve guests at the council’s Lenten brunch at Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church. More than 200 parishioners attended the event, which raised over $6,400 to help provide food for orphans and Christian families in Lebanon displaced by war.

St. Carlo Acutis, Pray for Us

Fourth Degree Knights from St. Joseph the Worker Assembly 3813 in East Aurora, N.Y., stand guard around a first-class relic of St. Carlo Acutis at the Church of the Annunciation in Elma. The relic was displayed in the church’s adoration chapel for six days as part of an exhibit on Eucharistic miracles that drew hundreds of people. The assembly and Christ the King of East Aurora Council 12829 provided an honor guard for two days.

Responding to the Call

Holy Smokes

Troy Conley, inside guard of Bel Air Council 4714 in Forest Hill, Md., grills hamburgers at St. Mary’s Seminary and University during the annual Vianney Cup, a seminarian soccer tournament. Four Knights grilled nearly 500 hamburgers and hot dogs for about 200 seminarians. Knights from several local councils supported the event.

Rosary on the Road

Members of Estancia (Visayas) Council 5123 and others pray the rosary on Holy Thursday at the Agtalin Shrine. The council and other Knights organized the vigil as part of its Knights on Wheels ministry, which hosts monthly rosaries at different churches.

Journey to Calvary

A cross-bearer leads the annual Good Friday procession organized by St. John the Baptist Council 14898 and Longmont (Colo.) Council 1313. More than 270 people walked 5.5 miles from St. John the Baptist Church to St. Francis of Assisi Church, praying the rosary and the Litany of Humility and meditating on the Stations of the Cross. More than 20 people, including several Knights, took turns carrying the 10-foot cross. Father Jose Delgado, parochial vicar at St. John the Baptist and a brother Knight, heard confessions along the way.

Sanctuary Refresh

Knights from Zapata (Texas) Council 9650 reassemble the sanctuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church after repainting the interior. Completed over one week at the request of Father Antoni Michno, pastor and a member of the council, the project included a $1,300 donation for materials.

Father McGivney Among Us

El Descendimiento

Members of San Felipe Neri Council 14254 in Albuquerque, N.M., carry statues of Jesus and Mary during the traditional El Descendimiento procession at San Felipe de Neri Parish. Held on Good Friday, the tradition begins during the 13th Station of the Cross, when Jesus’ corpus is lowered from the cross and carried in a candlelight procession. Some 200 people participated in this year’s procession, which more than 15 Knights supported.

Seminarian Barbecue

St. Philip the Apostle Council 9530 in Bakersfield, Calif., partnered with a local restaurant to host a drive-thru barbecue fundraiser at St. Philip the Apostle Parish. About 235 meals were served, raising more than $6,600 for the Diocese of Fresno seminarian fund.

Retreat, Refueled

Queen of Peace Council 10687 in Savannah, Ga., provided dinner for more than 20 teenagers and chaperones attending an overnight retreat at St. Peter the Apostle Parish. Knights prepared pizza, drinks and snacks for the attendees.

Beads for the Journey

Msgr. Dominic Blasco Council 3298 in Baton Rouge, La., presented K of C-branded rosaries and prayer cards designed by a Knight to 80 confirmation candidates at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Heartfelt Devotion

Father Shine Council 1966 in Plattsmouth, Neb., organized a Holy Hour dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus at the Church of the Holy Spirit, during which the Order’s icon of the Sacred Heart was displayed. Father Mark Pfeiffer, senior parochial vicar and council chaplain, led the Holy Hour for 40 people.

Serving in Style

Father Gerald M. Warren Council 7969 in Stoney Creek, Ontario, purchased 25 new albs for altar servers at St. Francis Xavier Parish because the previous albs were worn and frayed. The donation was made at the request of Father Ross Campbell, pastor and council chaplain, and cost CA$2,100.

Night with the Bishops

The Luzon South Council sponsored a fraternal gathering for Knights to meet with more than 15 bishops from throughout the jurisdiction. The evening began with a Mass for which Cardinal Jose Advincula, archbishop of Manila, was the principal celebrant. Dinner followed, including a keynote address by Cardinal Pablo Virgilio David, bishop of Kalookan and state chaplain, on the theme “Heralds of Hope.” Nearly 500 people attended the event.

Angelic Landscaping

Ten Knights from St. Margaret Council 3208 in Lake Charles, La., spent six hours landscaping at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. Father Nathan Long, pastor and council chaplain, suggested that a tree stump on the grounds be carved into a wooden statue of St. Michael the Archangel. The council and individual Knights combined to donate $1,200, nearly half of the $2,500 project cost. Council 3208 also raised $2,400 for a local retreat center and the Serra Club of Lake Charles during its annual barbecue fundraiser.

First Friday Fellowship

Msgr. Jean A. Prevost Council 12380 in Fall River, Mass., organizes a First Friday Club at St. Anthony of the Desert Maronite Church from October through June to pray a novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. About 50 people participate in Eucharistic adoration, confession and Mass, followed by a meal and guest speaker. The council donates $50 to the speaker’s charity of choice as an honorarium.

Soup for Seminarians

Bishop Kenny Council 1951 in Jacksonville, Fla., organized its fourth annual Soup for Seminarians dinner at Assumption Catholic Church. About 110 people attended and raised $8,200 to support Diocese of St. Augustine seminarians. The donation was made through the Order’s RSVP program, so the Supreme Council contributed an additional $1,800. The council has raised more than $20,500 since the event began.

Kitchen Upgrade

St. Paul Council 11676 in Cleveland, Ga., purchased a $16,000 stove for St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with money raised by working at a local parking lot. The new appliance replaced one that was 20 years old and no longer working.

Charity Beyond Borders

Bishop Jeremiah F. Minihan Council 202 in Haverhill, Mass., donated $1,000 to Father Chibueze Collins Anoka, priest-in-residence at All Saints Parish, to help provide food, financial assistance and other support to people in need in the Diocese of Ahiara, Nigeria, Father Anoka’s home diocese. In total, the parish and associated groups donated more than $20,000, enough to support about 1,000 people in the Nigerian diocese.

Knights on Duty

About 40 Knights, including some 30 members of St. Joseph the Patriarch Assembly 2980 in Pagadian City, Mindanao, served as marshals for the feast of Santo Niño, patron of the Diocese of Pagadian. Bishop Ronald Timoner of Pagadian presided over Mass at Sto. Niño Cathedral, followed by a fluvial procession. The assembly has assisted with the celebration for 20 years.

Sacred Sounds

Sacred Heart of Jesus Council 18010 in Skiatook, Okla., organized a Gregorian chant prayer night at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and provided pizza for participants afterward.

Vocations Night

St. Charles Borromeo Council 14832 in St. Anthony, Minn., and the Serra Club of North Minneapolis hosted their annual Seminarian Awards Dinner at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. More than 100 people attended the evening, which included prayer and dinner. Four seminarians each received $500, one of whom was funded by the council. Over nearly 30 years, the council has sponsored 15 seminarians from St. Paul Seminary through the Order’s RSVP program, donating more than $15,000.

New Seminary Chapel

St. James Council 1728 in Kearney, Neb., donated $1,400 — proceeds from the council’s pancake breakfast — to the Diocese of Kasana-Luwero, Uganda, to support the construction of an additional chapel at St. Kizito Minor Seminary in Nandere, which houses more than 250 seminarians and has outgrown its existing chapel. The donation was requested by Father Anthony Kirumira, associate pastor of St. James Church in Kearney and a brother Knight, who is a priest of the Diocese of Kasana-Luwero.

Santo Entierro

Members of Ramon E. Nazareno Council 5378 in Calape, Visayas, supported the Santo Entierro, or Holy Burial, on Good Friday, an annual tradition during which the statue of the dead Christ is carried in procession. About 5,000 people participated in this year’s commemoration, walking about 2.5 miles.

Heartfelt Devotion

Queen of the Apostles Council 16280 in Marathon, Wis., hosted the Order’s icon of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, where it was displayed during Mass and a Holy Hour dedicated to the Sacred Heart. Forty people, including 20 Knights who served as greeters and readers, attended the prayer service.

Knights of the Vigil

Several Knights from St. Michael Council 9949 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, served as readers, extraordinary ministers of holy Communion, ushers and more during the Easter Vigil at St. Michael Parish. The Knights assist with various ministries at weekend Masses throughout the year.

Leading the Via Crucis

Members of Father John S. Nelligan Council 5730 in Scotch Plains, N.J., helped lead the Stations of the Cross at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church during Lent. About 100 people attended, and Knights read prayers and carried the cross and candles.

Holy Week in Action

For several years, members of Archbishop Lino Gonzaga Council 8185 in Tacloban City, Visayas, have assisted with Holy Week liturgies at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. This year, more than 350 Knights led Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, served as altar servers at the Easter Vigil and supported the parish in other ways.

Sacred Presence

Msgr. Leo Cleary Council 12957 in Kirkfield, Ontario, hosted the Order’s icon of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at St. John the Evangelist Church, where the image was displayed during Mass.

Rise and Shine

For the past 15 years, members of Msgr. James J. Zegers Council 9113 in Marmora, N.J., have assisted with the sunrise Easter Mass organized by St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish on Strathmere Beach. Knights helped erect the altar, set up the sound system, direct parking and more.

Parish Pillars

Msgr. John J. Linnehan Council 3745 in Lynnfield, Mass., donated more than $13,000 to Our Lady of Assumption Church to support various infrastructure projects. The council also partnered with the church and Our Lady of Assumption Catholic School to raise $7,200 for a new computer network for the school.

Family

Store-Bought Generosity

Past Grand Knight Jeff Yorde (left) and Braxton Seifert of Holy Redeemer Council 1621 in Marshall, Minn., collect donations at a local grocery store for the council’s food drive. Over two weekends, the council received more than 4,000 pounds of food and $1,800 for Kitchen Table Food Shelf. Since 2018, the council has collected more than $13,700 and nearly 15,000 pounds of food during the annual drive.

Neighborly Assistance

Knights from Ave Maria Council 15931 in Louisville, Ky., and middle school volunteers from Our Lady of Lourdes School gather behind 250 bags filled with water, snacks, personal care kits and more. The packages, assembled as part of the council’s Good Neighbor Bags program, were taken by Our Lady of Lourdes parishioners to people experiencing homelessness. In the past five years, about 2,000 bags have been distributed.

Boxed Blessings

Knights from Father Louis Anthony Sigman Council 16277 in Chandler, Ariz., and some of their wives gather at Feed the Children’s warehouse after helping pack 15- and 25-pound boxes of household and personal care items. The supplies were delivered to communities throughout the western United States, benefiting about 400 families. Knights volunteer with the organization each month.

Mighty Movers

Fill the Pantry

Members of Bishop Timon Council 6405 in Jackson, Mo., including Father Randy Tochtrop, pastor and council chaplain, present the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer, president of Jackson Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, with a $3,400 donation for the food pantry. The funds were raised at the council’s annual community breakfast, which has been held for 40 years and has generated more than $50,000.

Overseas Partnership

Knights from Our Lady of Candles Council 13715 in Bacolod, Visayas, distribute bags of rice, fish and other food to people in need at Our Lady of Candles Church. Three councils in southeast Michigan — St. John Neumann Council 16169 and Msgr. Clement H. Kern Council 8284 in Canton, Mich., and Duns Scotus Council 14928 in Southfield, Mich. — sent more than $2,000 to the Philippines to purchase food for distribution at six locations. The annual program began in 1994 and has served more than 1,200 families in the past year.

Sweet Tradition

Knights from Father Shine Council 1966 in Plattsmouth, Neb., prepare cinnamon rolls at St. John the Baptist School’s kitchen during Catholic Schools Week. Council members baked some 400 cinnamon rolls for students, a Catholic Schools Week tradition for more than 15 years.

Hearty Delivery

More than CA$4,000 worth of canned soup was purchased for the food bank, one of several the council has supported over the past decade.

St. Clare of Assisi Council 12851 in Surprise, Ariz., organized its annual high school essay scholarship contest for students from St. Clare of Assisi Parish. Participants wrote essays on their favorite saints and how they inspire students to be faithful Catholics. Two winners received $500 each and a new laptop.

Parishioner Care

Sacred Heart Council 11818 in Erie, Pa., raised $2,500 to support parishioners in need throughout the year. The council also donated an additional $600 from its general fund to the parish. Over the past decade, the council has raised more than $20,000 to provide financial assistance to parishioners.

Members of Holy Family Council 9088 in Victoria, Texas, volunteer several hours each month at Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry, helping assemble food boxes for clients, as well as processing food and clothing donations.

Tables for All

Sacred Heart Council 8927 in Prince George, British Columbia, obtained wood from a local lumber mill to build five picnic tables for Sacred Heart Elementary School. Workers from Kopar Administration Ltd., a local employment center, built the tables, which the Knights later delivered to the school.

Answering the Call

St. Petersburg (Fla.) Council 2105 and Frank J. Lewis Assembly 159 donated a total of $1,350 to Daystar Life’s food pantry after the pantry posted on social media that it was out of food. The council and assembly have supported the pantry since 1982, and Knights volunteer weekly to assist with food distribution.

Chili Champions

St. Catherine of Siena Council 6980 in Portage, Mich., sponsored its fourth annual Chili Cook-Off fundraiser at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, in which 15 people participated. The event was attended by more than 200 people and raised $2,600 for parish projects and Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Kalamazoo.

Monthly Mission

Since 2020, St. Anthony of Padua Chaplaincy Council 14152 in Danao City, Visayas, has conducted monthly food distributions for children in the area, serving about 75 people each time. Each month’s distribution costs about 3,500 PHP (about $60), funded through the council’s general fund and donations from individual Knights.

Works of Mercy

San Lorenzo Council 12378 in Virginia Beach, Va., hosted a food drive at San Lorenzo Spiritual Center at the request of Father Michael Imperial, pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Onley and a brother Knight. The drive collected more than 50 25-pound bags of rice and several boxes of bananas and apples, which were distributed to more than 25 migrant families. The council also organized a memorial Mass for Knights who have died — an annual tradition for more than 25 years.

Steadfast Service

Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Council 13145 in Baton Rouge, La., donated $1,000 to the Diocese of Baton Rouge’s Hispanic Apostolate Food Bank. Council members have volunteered at the food bank for more than eight years.

Frying for a Cause

Rev. John T. Weyer Council 11343 in Sugar Land, Texas, raised more than $30,000 from its Lenten fish fries at St. Laurence Catholic Church to support six Catholic schools, diocesan seminarians and its scholarship essay program. The council has organized the dinners for 25 years, raising more than $322,000 in that time. The council also hosted a pizza party for more than 50 altar servers and their parents to thank the youth for their liturgical service.

Hot Meals, Bright Futures

Holy Family Council 9213 in Kingsburg, Calif., has hosted Lenten fish fries for more than 35 years at Holy Family Catholic Church, raising more than $240,000 — including $12,000 this year — for the church and charities. The council has also organized its scholarship program for 40 years, awarding more than $130,000 to college-bound high school seniors.

Bread of Life

Every week, members of Holy Cross Council 7904 in Mesa, Ariz., deliver extra bread from a local bakery to the food pantry operated by Holy Cross Parish’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference. The council has collected more than 12,600 loaves of bread over the past two years.

On the Hunt

For the past 25 years, St. Anthony Council 2439 in Sublimity, Ore., has organized an annual Easter egg hunt at St. Boniface Church. More than 150 children searched for plastic eggs filled with candy, and three children who found golden eggs received an Easter basket. The event also collected nearly $100 in cash donations and more than 30 pounds of food for the Stayton Community Food Bank.

Game Night

About 50 people attended a board game tournament hosted by Baie Des Ha! Ha! Council 2762 in La Baie, Québec. The council hosts similar activities twice a year to invite younger men to join the Knights.

Holiday Helpers

Therien Council 2908 in Bonnyville, Alberta, organized its annual holiday food drive at St. Louis Parish, providing nearly 300 families with packages of turkey, ham, potatoes and more. The council also worked with Bonnyville Centralized High School to provide toys to the families’ children. The council has sponsored this program since 1984, delivering more than 8,000 food packages.

Ham Happiness

Warren Council 474 in Phillipsburg, N.J., donated 150 hams to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Metuchen for distribution to families in need during the holidays. The council has provided more than 2,000 hams over more than 20 years.

Holiday Outreach

For about 30 years, Knights from Holy Rosary Council 10537 in Ansonia, Conn., and their families have prepared and delivered meals to local homebound and elderly residents for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. More than 60 meals are delivered each holiday.

Knights from Bishop Verot Assembly 166 in St. Augustine, Fla., stand with veterans and staff members at the Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans’ Nursing Home after preparing lunch for 170 people at the home. A brother Knight played the bagpipes, and the assembly donated books, magazines and other supplies to the home.

Coastal Cleanup

Knights from Bohol Council 3290 in Tagbilaran, Visayas, pick up trash during a council-led cleanup along the coastline of the Laya barangay (neighborhood). Some 25 volunteers from the council and the Daughters of Mary Immaculate Sisters spent more than two hours picking up garbage and fallen coconuts along the beach.

Keep the Heat On

Andrew Casella of Mother Seton Council 15540 in Three Bridges, N.J., delivers 100 quilts from Quilts for Kids — a nonprofit that provides quilts to children suffering from illness, trauma, abuse and natural disasters — to Amanda Carlson, a staff member at St. Peter’s University Hospital. The council donated $750 from its annual golf fundraiser to Quilts for Kids, which provides the quilts at no cost to families. Over the past several years, the council has donated more than $4,000 and helped deliver more than 700 quilts to area hospitals.

Wheels Up

Members of Our Lady of Fatima Council 9636 in Las Piñas, Luzon South, present a wheelchair purchased by the council to Father Raul Rañola of Sta. Cecilia Village Chapel and parishioners. Members of Council of Palms Council 6673 in Lenexa, Kan., Our Lady of Peace Council 9856 in Leawood, and Holy Spirit Council 11661 in Overland Park and volunteers display coat and food donations at Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas’ distribution center in Kansas City, Kan. Some 100 coats were donated through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program for children in need, and about 12,000 pounds of food were sorted for distribution to Catholic Charities food pantries. Student Mobility

Officers from the Florida State Council and other fraternal leaders present two donated wheelchairs to staff at St. Mary Academy in Sarasota. The wheelchairs, along with another donated to St. Martha Catholic School, will help transport students to the school nurse during medical emergencies. Since April 2025, the state council has funded about 900 wheelchairs, valued at $132,000, for schools, parishes and other groups.

Aiding Soldiers and Families

Knights from St. Pamphile (Québec) Council 3075 present a CA$2,500 check to Annie Pelletier, executive director of Maison d’Hélène, a hospice that provides palliative care. The council is a longtime supporter of the organization, donating about $18,000 over the past 10 years.

Sweet Dreams

Gifts of the Magi

Knights from San Benito Abad Council 9572 in Patillas, Puerto Rico, dressed as the Magi, gather with children from Sagrada Familia de Nazaret Parish in the Dominican Republic after presenting basketballs, soccer balls and volleyballs during an Epiphany event organized by the Knights. The Puerto Rico State Council and Dominican Republic State Council coordinated the event at three parishes in the Dominican Republic, and more than 300 children attended.

Candlelight Tribute

St. Margaret of Scotland Council 17204 in San Angelo, Texas, organized a candlelight ceremony at St. Margaret of Scotland Church to honor Knights who are veterans. During the ceremony, which was part of the parish’s 60th anniversary celebration, each veteran Knight and his family were invited to light a candle while the Knight was recognized for his service.

Medical Mission

St. Veronica Council 12579 in Chantilly, Va., collected several wheelchairs, walkers and other medical supplies during its annual drive at St. Veronica Parish. The items were given to Medical Missionaries, a Manassas-based nonprofit, for distribution to people in need in Africa and Latin America. The council also supported the annual PTO fundraiser at St. Veronica School, which raised more than $13,000 for its scholarship program. Since 2009, the program has provided more than $70,000 to the school’s students.

Soup Supper

Mother Seton Council 15540 in Three Bridges, N.J., raised more than $1,000 during its weekly Lenten soup supper at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. About a dozen Knights helped prepare and serve homemade soups, salad and desserts. The money raised, to which the council added a donation of $2,000, was given to Catholic Relief Services.

On the Line

Iowa Great Lakes Council 5043 in Spirit Lake, Iowa, organized its annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest at the Bedell Family YMCA. More than 25 boys and girls ages 9-14 participated, with three advancing to the state competition. The council has sponsored the contest for 25 years and presented certificates to all participants and plaques to this year’s winners.

Veterans Strong

Foxboro-Sharon (Mass.) Council 6063 organized a fundraiser to support the West Roxbury VA Medical Hospital. Past Grand Knight Paul Bergeron, a veteran, spearheaded the fundraiser, which raised about $800 — including $250 from the council — to purchase 50 sweatsuits for the hospital.

Medical Access for All

Holy Spirit Council 13919 in Malolos City, Luzon North, worked with Holy Angels Clinic to organize its annual medical mission. About 200 community members received free medical checkups and medicine.

Clothing Neighbors

Msgr. John A. Welsh Council 4312 in Memphis, Tenn., sponsored a coats and clothing drive at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. More than 60 coats and 70 clothing items were collected and delivered to Catholic Charities of West Tennessee. The council has held the drive for nine years, collecting about 1,000 clothing items during that time.

Young Hoopers

Msgr. Jean A. Prevost Council 12380 in Fall River, Mass., organized its annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest at Bishop Connolly High School. The council has sponsored the contest for more than 25 years, with nearly 30 children ages 9-14 participating this year.

Promising Hope

Perpetual Help Council 4603 in Grove City, Ohio, organized a clothing and material drive at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish for Promise of Hope, which helps people experiencing homelessness. The drive collected more than 1,200 pairs of socks, 150 pairs of shoes and about 20 bags of winter clothing this year. The council also donated nearly 100 coats through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program.

Veteran Valentines

Bishop Charles McLaughlin Assembly 1818 in Venice, Fla., organized its annual Valentines for Veterans Dinner Dance at San Pedro Parish for more than 220 people, including 30 veterans. The evening featured a keynote address by Msgr. Robert Cannon, a priest of the Diocese of Venice and former chancellor of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, tributes to all U.S. military branches, and three veteran honorees. The event raised $15,000, which was split among the military archdiocese, Canines for Heroes and Southwest Florida Honor Flight Inc. Over the past 13 years, more than $100,000 has been raised for military and veterans support organizations.

Denim Dignity

Father Louis Anthony Sigman Council 16277 in Chandler, Ariz., sponsored a jeans and sneaker drive at St. Juan Diego Church. Nearly 300 pairs of jeans and 200 pairs of shoes were collected and distributed to people experiencing homelessness at the Paz de Cristo Community Center in Mesa. Two Knights volunteer at the center weekly, and the council donates items throughout the year.

Barbecuing with a Purpose

Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Assembly 3677 in Richmond, Va., organized a Barbecue for Heroes fundraiser at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. About 65 people attended the event, which raised more than $1,500 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which helps provide housing to military members and first responders.

Hockey (K)Nights

For several years, Our Lady of the Rosary Council 13272 in Oro Valley, Ariz., has partnered with the Tucson Roadrunners, a minor league hockey team, to host charity nights to raise funds for the council’s chosen beneficiaries. For each ticket purchased through the council for a designated game, half the proceeds go to charity. This past hockey season, the council raised $2,200 for supplies for the special education classroom at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and the council’s ultrasound fund. Inspired by Council 13272’s example, six local councils have joined its charity nights, helping generate more than $50,000 in charitable donations since 2019.

Training Success

Alfred (Ontario) Council 3486 donated CA$40,000 — proceeds from the sale of the council’s home corporation building — to the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Foundation to help purchase a HAL patient simulator — a robotic mannequin — for training. The council’s contribution covered more than 25% of the CA$150,000 cost.

America’s Birthday Bash

Msgr. Sherman Council 5103 in Glendale, N.Y., sells “Happy Birthday America” yard signs to commemorate America’s semiquincentennial. So far, more than 1,000 signs have been purchased, raising $5,000 for pro-life initiatives and the council’s scholarship program.

Wall of Honor

Our Lady of La Salette Assembly 3115 in Shallotte, N.C., installed a recognition wall for active-duty military members at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church. The Knights spent three days completing the project, which cost the assembly $500 and features photos of parishioners who entered the military.

Semper Fi

Valley of the Angels Council 9710 in San Diego donated more than $14,000 to Semper Fi & America’s Fund, a nonprofit that provides financial aid to sick and injured service members. The donation was matched by the Parsons Foundation, totaling nearly $29,000. The council has supported the organization for 10 years, contributing more than $150,000 during that time.

Spirit and Body Sustenance

St. John Neumann Assembly 478 in Clinton Township, Mich., sponsored a Wreaths Across America ceremony at St. Lawrence Cemetery to honor veterans who have died. The assembly also collected more than 15 bags of food and six bags of clothing for Vets Returning Home, which helps veterans return to civilian life.

Tons of Care

Members of Cypress (Calif.) Council 8599 supported a warm clothing drive at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church that collected five tons of clothing, blankets, bedding, shoes and more for local organizations serving people experiencing homelessness. The drive has collected more than 60 tons of items since it was established by a Knight and his wife 30 years ago.

Concert Carols

Cherry Hill (N.J.) Council 6173 organized its annual Christmas party for residents of St. Mary’s Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare. Knights and their family members sang Christmas carols and provided snacks and drinks to about 80 residents. The council has hosted an annual holiday party at the home for the past 50 years.

Double the Good

Knights from Ascension Council 11139 in Chesterfield, Mo., present a $5,000 check to staff from Emmaus Homes, a nonprofit that provides housing to adults with disabilities. The council raised $2,500 through its annual fund drive for people with disabilities, which was matched by brother Knight Tim Lewis, whose sister is a resident at the home. Emmaus Homes is among several groups that have received more than $200,000 from the council since the fundraiser began more than 20 years ago.

Testament to Life

Members of St. Anne Council 6057 in Youngsville, La., and Father Michael Russo, pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church and council chaplain, stand behind a monument to the unborn at the church’s main entrance after it was blessed. The monument was first installed 20 years ago at the original church building, which dates back to at least 1887. Knights reinstalled the monument at the new church building, which was constructed last year.

Bottled Blessings

Ultrasound Machine Powerhouse

Bishop Edward Lohse of Kalamazoo, Mich., leads prayer during the blessing of an ultrasound machine at Positive Options, a pregnancy resource center in Allegan. St. Catherine of Siena Council 6980 in Portage spearheaded the effort, with help from Allegan (Mich.) Council 2515 and St. Ann Council 13633 in Augusta, to raise nearly $21,000, which the Supreme Council matched through the Ultrasound Initiative. This was the 104th ultrasound machine purchased by Michigan Knights since the Ultrasound Initiative began in January 2009.

Diaper Delivery

Members of Immaculate Conception Council 14962 in Columbus, Ohio, organize donations received during the council’s annual diaper drive for Pregnancy Decision Health Centers. The council has held the drive at Immaculate Conception Parish for more than 10 years, collecting about 19,000 diapers and more than 5,000 wipes this year.

The council’s donation, which came from its baby bottle drive, was followed by a $400 grant from the Supreme Council through the ASAP program. The council also donated $250 to Bethlehem House, a local maternity home.

Network of Support

Tom Hembree, life director for the Washington State Council, presents a check for more than $34,000 to Katie Chiles, executive director of Goldendale Pregnancy Center. The council has hosted several blood drives in collaboration with the Puerto Rico Medical Services Administration and Holy Trinity Parish, collecting nearly 100 pints since 2021.

Pregnancy Care

Prayer Warriors

Members of Rancho Cucamonga Council 13403 in Alta Loma, Calif., and parishioners of St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church hold pro-life signs outside an abortion clinic. Since July 2025, brother Knight Alan Guindon has arranged for a group of Knights and parishioners to pray outside the abortion clinic every week for an end to abortion.

Members of Father Jeremiah O’Callaghan Council 3659 in Inver Grove, Minn., and Father Lucien Galtier Council 4184 in West St. Paul and Auxiliary Bishop Kevin Kenney of St. Paul and Minneapolis, a brother Knight, stand beside a new ultrasound machine at Guiding Star Wakota, a pregnancy resource center in West St. Paul, after it was blessed by Bishop Kenney. The center received a grant of about $22,000 to help purchase the machine, and the two councils together raised $26,000 to complete the funding campaign.

Silver Lining of Faith

More than 800 Knights, family members and community members participated in the nearly 1-mile demonstration, which began with Mass at St. Dominic de Guzman Parish.

First Glimpse, Lasting Impact

Reid Assembly 1086 present a new ultrasound machine to Birth Choice Pregnancy Clinic after it was blessed by Father Dennis Schenkel, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, who also serves as council chaplain and faithful friar. The council raised $26,000 for the machine, which was fully matched by the Supreme Council through the Ultrasound Initiative. Since 2013, the council has helped fund three ultrasound machines for the center, the latest of which coincided with the 120th anniversary of the council’s chartering.

Inclusive Education

The Most Precious Gift

Knights from across Visayas District #74 hold pro-life signs after Mass at Redemptorist Parish in Tacloban City before participating in the district’s annual March for Life. More than 180 people, including nearly 100 Knights, participated in the 15.6-mile procession through the city. This year’s march was themed “Life is a Gift,” and the event also included pro-life speakers and the laying of a wreath before a monument to the unborn.

Bottled Up Support

Paving the Way

Members of Joseph M. Johnson Council 7538 in Ashland, Va., worked over two days to landscape and prepare two walkways at Millie’s Home, the only maternity home in Hanover County. The council provided materials worth $200. The council also donated more than $1,000 to the home, which was later followed by an additional donation from the Supreme Council through the ASAP program.

Polar Plunge Champs

George C. Shields Council 420 in Mansfield, Mass., raised more than $3,500 to support Special Olympics Massachusetts’ Polar Plunge. Eight Knights were among the participants who plunged into Lake Massapoag in Sharon.

Pint Party

Woodstock (Ill.) Council 776 partnered with the American Red Cross to organize a blood drive at St. Mary Church, where nearly 40 pints of blood were collected for McHenry County hospitals. The council has sponsored blood drives since the 1990s and currently holds four drives a year.

Rosary for Life

Archbishop Patricio Flores Council 16748 in Seguin, Texas, organized a rosary for life at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. About 40 people began at the monument to the unborn, donated by the council, and prayed while walking the church grounds. The event followed a Mass celebrated by Father Josselin Randriamiharimanana, pastor and council chaplain, and concluded with food and fellowship in the parish hall.

Legacy of Care

Queen of Apostle Council 6548 in Houghton Lake, Mich., raised more than $3,600 during its annual fund drive for people with disabilities. The money was distributed evenly between Special Olympics Michigan and C.O.O.R. Intermediate School District.

Meals that Matter

Stanley F. Binicki Council 6997 in Poynette, Wis., organized two meal fundraisers at Nativity of the Lord Parish to support CareNet Pregnancy Center. One dinner included reflections from the center’s staff about its mission. The two events raised more than $4,000 for CareNet.

Community Lifeline

Gapan (Luzon North) Council 3939 partnered with the Philippine Red Cross to organize a blood drive at Three Kings Parish, where more than 110 pints of blood were collected.

Life is a Gift

Several youth parishioners from Sts. Cyril and Methodius Parish in Sterling Heights, Mich., participated in the annual pro-life poster contest organized by St. Nicholas Council 7011. Entries incorporated the contest’s theme, “Life is a Gift.” The council also raised $13,500 during its baby bottle campaign, which has raised about $101,000 — including about $16,000 from Supreme Council grants — for several Detroit-area pro-life organizations over the past eight years.

Fund Drive Success

St. Bede–Pius X Council 3788 in Ingleside, Ill., organized its 10th annual fund drive for people with disabilities, which raised more than $8,000. The proceeds supported several charities, including Pioneer Center for Human Services and Allendale Association. Since 2015, the drive has generated about $27,000 for groups that support people with disabilities.

Milestone Support

St. Joan of Arc Council 6693 in Hershey, Pa., raised $360 for Morning Star Pregnancy Services and Lourdeshouse Maternity Home during its 50th anniversary dinner fundraiser. The council also organizes two diaper drives a year for the two organizations; the drives collected diapers and nearly $2,000 in 2025. The Supreme Council donated an additional $400 through ASAP.

Steady Stream of Giving

Sancta Familia Council 11498 in Sewell, N.J., hosted a blood drive at the Church of the Holy Family that collected more than 50 pints of blood. The council has sponsored two drives a year since 2008, with donations totaling more than 2,500 pints since then — enough to help as many as 7,500 people.

Hospital Prayer Watch

Knights from Father Victor C. Cote Council 9671 in Tecumseh, Ontario, prayed outside Windsor Regional Hospital for an end to abortion as part of the area’s 40 Days for Life initiative.

Pint by Pint

St. John Neumann Council 7343 in Charlotte, N.C., worked with the American Red Cross to organize a blood drive at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. More than 25 pints of blood were collected, including eight donated by Knights. The council has organized drives for more than 20 years, hosting at least four each year.

Camp All In

John Cardinal Dearden Council 744 in Mount Clemens, Mich., raised $2,300 for a water-accessible wheelchair for St. Francis Camp on the Lake, a summer camp for people with disabilities. The council donated an additional $2,165 to support the camp’s maintenance, food, counselors and other needs. The council has supported the organization since 2006, with donations totaling more than $20,000.

Champions for Inclusion

St. Petersburg (Fla.) Council 2105 raised nearly $2,000 during its recent fund drive for people with disabilities to support Special Olympics Florida and Morning Star Catholic School, which serves students with different learning abilities. The council organizes the drive twice a year.
